[player_tooltip player_id='419308' first='Morgan' last='Mann'], a 5'7 guard, is shifty with the basketball while attacking her defender. She understands to attack her opponents hips and go through them compared to going around them. When she does this it makes the defender open up their hips, creating significant space to help her get by on the dribble. Once she gets to the inner layer of the lane she shows great knowledge of how to finish at the rim. Wether it be with a euro step, regular finish, or reverse in some sort of way. This July is important for Mann with her Pure Prep team and I'm sure she is going to make the most of it.

[player_tooltip player_id='342195' first='Laynee' last='Hogan'] - East Buchanan High School

While mentioning shifty point guards we need to mention [player_tooltip player_id='342195' first='Laynee' last='Hogan']. Hogan was recently added to the rankings and comes in at #44, which is a good start. Hogan is a shifty but more-so crafty point guard. She has the ability to shoot the ball from deep, attack off the dribble, or facilitate for others on a consistent basis. Every time I watch Hogan compete she is working her tail off and giving it everything she has out there, each and every possession. Something I wish more players would understand the concept of at times.

[player_tooltip player_id='671472' first='Layla' last='Trytten'] - Dowling Catholic High School

[player_tooltip player_id='671472' first='Layla' last='Trytten'] is going to have more of a main role this season at Dowling Catholic high school and I can't wait to see what she makes of it. Trytten is a combo guard with good size. She is agile, moves to the ball, and is a stifling defender when it comes to her on-ball defense. Other then that she displays a bunch of intangibles that all college coaches love to see. Things like being vocal throughout all parts of the game, pointing out things she see's in real time to help her team strategically, and always being one of the first on the ground or into the stands for a loose ball. Dowling is going to come back stronger than ever this winter and a big part of that is going to be because of Trytten.

[player_tooltip player_id='671473' first='Neela' last='Williamson'] - Dallas Center-Grimes High School

[player_tooltip player_id='671473' first='Neela' last='Williamson'] is a multi sport athlete who excels in whatever she is putting her mind to. She works hard, understands concepts well, and has a little bit of skill when it comes to the game of basketball. She is a player that I throw into the combo guard category because of her ability to play the 1 or 2 position, depending on what is being asked of her. This July I am going to be around to catch her Waukee Jam Girls team compete a few more times. I want to really see what Williamson can do against some tough competition. She is a grinder. I expect her hard-work to take over and show-out in the end.

[player_tooltip player_id='671470' first='Addison' last='Dennis'] - Iowa Falls Alden High School

A player that has shown some really nice glimpses of what she can do on the court is [player_tooltip player_id='671470' first='Addison' last='Dennis']. Dennis, a 6 FT forward, is a handful in the post or near the basket for her opponents. She knows to get her defender to the side she favors and then hit them with a bunch of different moves, looking for an open window going toward the hoop. If the defender is smaller then she keeps it simple and just rises over whatever shoulder is easiest for herself in that moment. I need to see Addison play a few more times to truly get a feel for her game against elite competition but from what I've seen thus far, she has a fairly high ceiling with a nice future on the court looking ahead.
