Naomi has had a great AAU season with Tree of Hope 17U Elite. She helped her team to a gold bracket championship at the Nike tournament of champions in Chicago. She continues to get better as a guard who has elite quickness and speed in the open floor. She is a high level defender. She anticipates well and gets up into ball handling guards, forcing turnovers. Once she gets the ball, she is at her best with the open floor speed. She is a downhill player in the half court using the quickness to blow by the defense. She is starting to pull in offers. I expect she will be getting more soon.
Tatum is showing just how good she is when fully healthy. She is an exceptional rebounder, with grab and go ability. She can score on all levels, and uses every bit of her size. She has great shot mechanics and shoots it well from three with a quick release. She is strong and athletic and uses that to get to the basket, scoring around the rim. She runs the floor, defends multiple positions , and plays harder than most. She will be a huge part of Eastlake’s quest to defend their class 4A title. She has all state type talent.
Ashley had a good freshman season as the leading scorer for Lake Washington. She has improved her game this off-season playing with Team Stuck. Her ability to shoot off the dribble and create her own shot has been on display as a part of her game that has grown. She is an underrated athlete whose game should thrive next season with another year of experience. She looks every bit the part of a player who can be a high level scoring guard.
Ellery is another 2026 stock riser. I was impressed with her overall feel for the game. She can score off the dribble and shoots it well from three. She handles the ball well, and can be effective running the point or playing the two. She sees the floor well and has good instincts in the open floor. She also has great instincts on defense and anticipates well. A 2026 stock riser.
Portia continues to improve as one of the top point guards in the state. She is a tough player who gets after it on both ends of the floor. She can bully her war to the hoop and shoots it well from three. What she lacks in size she makes up for in heart. She is a true point guard who can score and facilitate. She has great quickness and excels on defense with her ball pressure. She also has great handles with a low center of gravity, which makes it tough for opponents to stay in front of her.
