Sunday, August 27th, Prep Girls Hoops Indiana hosted its second annual Freshman Showcase. The event, which took place at Fishers High School, included more than 110 registered participants, all from the 2027 class. Fellow writer Jeremy Brooks (PGH Iowa) will be writing a number of follow-up articles from the event as well, but I wanted to focus my time on each team and each young lady who participated in the showcase through a series of articles of my own. Additionally, I would like to thank all of the players, parents, and support staff who made this event a success!

.

TEAM 9:
#9 - [player_tooltip player_id='751042' first='Berkleigh' last='Collins'], Wood Memorial H.S. - I saw Berkleigh over the Summer, but this is the most I can remember her ever handling it. She has length, quickness, and a solid feel for the game. She will need to be more aggressive to her left.

#59 - [player_tooltip player_id='751073' first='Jailen' last='Bowling'], Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory - Jailen is a long, wiry-strong, active, and athletic guard. She is aggressive trying to score it, and she had a few scores that stood out. She could be impactful early in her career for Brebeuf.

#116 - [player_tooltip player_id='751103' first='Marley' last='Warren'], Trinity Lutheran H.S. - Marley is a tough-nosed, feisty, dynamic little guard. She plays hard and fast all the time, and she is good at collapsing defenses. As she learns how to change speeds, she will be highly effective.

#607 - [player_tooltip player_id='751038' first='Ameria' last='Gibson'], McCutcheon H.S. - Ameria is a really nice North/South athlete, she has good length, an athletic frame, and she has a bounce in her step. She plays with a nice motor and is very active, plus she has some versatility.

#624 - [player_tooltip player_id='751082' first='Kara' last='Olejnik'], Plainfield H.S. - Kara is a nice, solid basketball player. She has a fairly strong frame, she is a solid athlete, and she plays with a motor. She can handle it a little and act as a point forward, plus she has some touch from outside.

#630 - [player_tooltip player_id='751085' first='Katherine' last='Noll'], Homestead H.S. - Katie is a solid to strong kid who plays with a nice motor. She does a lot of the "little things" to help her team win, she'll play physical around the basket, she'll rebound, and she'll defend.

#634 - [player_tooltip player_id='751094' first='Lillian' last='Fulkerson'], Lebanon H.S. - Lillian is extremely long, fluid, and very active. I don't know that she stood still at all, and she managed to come up with some "scraps" baskets. As she gets stronger, she should be more consistent.

#636 - [player_tooltip player_id='751051' first='Claire' last='Larrison'], Greensburg H.S. - I saw Claire a lot over the Summer, and she really stood out. She is a really nice, fluid athlete, she has a well-balanced skillset, and she can make plays at both ends of the floor. I really like her versatility.

.

TEAM 10:
#56 - [player_tooltip player_id='751070' first='Izzy' last='Like'], Evansville Mater Dei H.S. - I like Izzy, and I think she'll help EMD sooner rather than later. She is quick, feisty, and active. She has some length, she plays with a nice motor, and she is always around the ball. She has a very balanced game.

#602 - [player_tooltip player_id='751077' first='Jazlyn' last='Miller'], Pike H.S. - Jazlyn is extremely long, wiry, and fluidly athletic. She plays with a nice motor and is aggressive trying to score. As she gets stronger and lets the game come to her more, she has the talent to be consistently productive.

#605 - [player_tooltip player_id='736459' first='Elizabeth' last='Silcox'], Greenfield-Central H.S. - Elizabeth is another one of those "wait-and-see" kids. She has a nice ceiling, but she needs to finish growing and gaining strength. She is extremely long and wiry, fluid, and she has a nice skillset.

#617 - [player_tooltip player_id='751066' first='Havana' last='Thompson'], Decatur Central H.S. - Havana definitely looks the part, but she also plays the part. She is a fairly strong, athletic, and well-balanced ballplayer. She can handle, create, attack, shoot, and defend, plus she plays hard.

#626 - [player_tooltip player_id='644053' first='Miley' last='Sherrill'], Bedford North Lawrence H.S. - Miley is a strong, somewhat physical, but also a fairly athletic wing. She showed the ability to battle inside some, but she also showed nice touch from the perimeter. Miley is also very active.

#629 - [player_tooltip player_id='716615' first='Elliot' last='Leffler'], Roncalli H.S. - Elliot is a versatile, skilled, multi-positional type of guard. She can play on the ball and initiate the offense, plus she can score off the bounce or by knocking down open shots. She is also versatile defensively.

#633 - [player_tooltip player_id='751299' first='Brianna' last='Brown'], Brownsburg H.S. - Brianna is one of the better athletes in this class. She has some length, an athletic frame, and she can run & jump. She plays with a motor, she'll rebound and defend, and she's great in the mid-post.

#638 - [player_tooltip player_id='751049' first='Carolyn' last='Archer'], Lake Central H.S. - Carolyn is one of those "glue" kids who works around the basket. She is willing to be physical, she'll rebound and defend inside, and she looks most comfortable with her back to the basket offensively.
