In a year that saw Chief lead the Falcons on a deep playoff run she earned 5A Sonoran Region Player of the Year. One of the top overall 2027 prospects in the state. Chief can impact in the post with her strength and excellent post footwork or spacing out the floor knocking down the three ball. She averaged 10 points, 3.7 assists, 5.9 rebounds, 2.9 steals and 1.4 blocks per game. What makes Chief a special player is she can simply do it all. Her skill, speed, strength and IQ allows her to be able to fill in and play any position. Chief helped lead the Falcons to a final four appearance in the 5A State playoffs. Expect her to have the Falcons back in it again next season.

Chief was efficient and active in the quarterfinals. She rebounds, finishes around the rim, and defends multiple spots. She doesn’t force much — just produces. Catalina Foothills needs her motor and physicality again if they want to control the pace and interior play.

Chief is one of the more versatile wings in the bracket. She’s a matchup problem because she can hurt you in multiple ways. She scores efficiently, rebounds her position well, and shows strong vision as a passer. Chief is one of the main catalysts for Catalina Foothills. When she’s aggressive, they’re different. Chief is one of my favorite under the radar wings in Arizona. She has good scoring ability from all three levels, and fills the stat sheet. Although she didn’t play in the 2nd game, her performance in the first and third games left a lasting impression that she helps make her team better. College coaches get this young lady on your radar.

Chief started the game out with a quick steal that she took the other way for the easy layup. Showed her vision a lot in this game getting her team involved heavily. Notable play was a no look assist she made passing the ball three quarters of the court right on target. Well composed dribbler through pressure who made plays the whole game. High percentage scorer. Showed off her range as well as a nice pump fake which she dribbled into a mid range score. Chief knows and plays the game at a high level.

Chief was just dominant in all areas of the game. A forward that can handle the ball well and shot lights out at the event. A strong rebounder that pushes and plays very well in transition. Opponents struggled guarding and being guarded by Chief. Not only one of the top players in Southern Arizona but Chief is one of the top in the State. Chiefs recruitment should expect to take leaps this season.

Kayanna might have been the most consistent three point scorer I during the Section 7 Girls Weekend. She shoots the ball with confidence and she shows you why. She has the ability to lose defenders and finds herself knocking down the open look. Can also rebound the ball very well and make opponents pay with second chance points. Played strong in the post and able to get to her spots and score. Chief plays the game at high level on both sides of the ball.
