The 8th region is one of the toughest regions in Northern Kentucky. It is loaded with great teams, talented players, and high level coaches. Below I have listed 1-5 of the top 10 teams in the region.

Anderson County-They have the best player in the region in [player_tooltip player_id='254281' first='Lainey' last='Johnson'], a really good senior point guard in Jenna Satterly and one of the top coaches in Kentucky Clay Birdwhistell. I look for them to be a top 10 team in the state once again this season and making it to the Sweet 16 state tournament.
2022-2023 Record: Regular Season 26-7, Region 13-3, District 9-1

South Oldham-Will have their top scoring threats from last season in [player_tooltip player_id='167105' first='Ella' last='Morrison'] and [player_tooltip player_id='376802' first='Madison' last='Young']. They also have freshman [player_tooltip player_id='636721' first='Brynn' last='Brickey'] who could make an impact sooner than expected. This team is very well coached, they are also talented, physical and hungry. Will compete for a region championship this season.
2022-2023 Record: Regular Season 19-9, Region 10-3, District 3-0

Grant County-Lost some key seniors from last season. But are returning their top scorer in [player_tooltip player_id='986683' first='Jada' last='Cummins']. They also have talented underclassmen including [player_tooltip player_id='729575' first='Olivia' last='Ginn'] who has improved a lot over the summer. They will be really good by the end of year as their youth gains experience.
2022-2023 Record: Regular Season 20-11, Region 9-3, District 3-1

Simon Kenton-Lost a key senior from last season. But still have have most of their top players returning. Their young nucleus [player_tooltip player_id='739708' first='Brynli' last='Pernell'], [player_tooltip player_id='724178' first='Haylie' last='Webb'], and [player_tooltip player_id='859859' first='Anna' last='Kelch'] will be key contributors this season. I expect the Lady Pioneers to continue their momentum from last season and possibly repeating as region champs and getting back to the Sweet 16.
2023-2023 Record: Regular Season 19-15, Region 7-3, District 3-2

Owen County-Had a lot of success last season. Lost a top scorer. But they have one of the top players in the region in Haley Logan returning and young up and coming [player_tooltip player_id='379876' first='Kylee' last='Steffen'] who has a ton of potential. [player_tooltip player_id='380114' first='Zoey' last='Webster'] will make an impact as well.
2023-2023 Record: Regular Season 20-11, Region 17-5, District 13-0
