Katelyn possesses length and explosive athleticism as a guard/wing, which elevates her college ceiling, much like her vertical–high. At Swartz Creek Summer League, her potential couldn’t have been clearer. Katelyn was explosive in transition, a defensive playmaker, relentless rebounder, distributed passes effectively, and drove to the basket at will. She beat the defense using backdoor cuts and poured in three-pointers at Northwood Team Camp. Katelyn took another step forward in our latest rankings update.

Katelyn was one of the best prospects in the gym at the Swartz Creek Summer League last week. She has high-jumping athleticism, length, and a second gear that separates her from the pack. Katelyn drove hard downhill to force fouls and converted many free throws with a confident follow-through at the line. She cut back door, caught the pass, and made a quick transfer to score the contested layup. Katelyn beat her defender on a baseline drive and dished an excellent left-handed pass when the help arrived for the assist–her ability to drive full speed and dish quick dump-off passes as the help arrived gave teammates wide-open looks throughout the day. Katelyn ripped the ball away on defense and raced the other way with explosive, long strides, using pushout dribbles with both hands, and finishing the layup in top gear after a quick transfer to her left hand. Katelyn split defenders off an inbounds play, absorbed contact at the rim, and finished the layup. She showed her perimeter range by knocking down a deep corner jumper and a wing three. Katelyn converted many free throws, used her length to create steals, and crashed the boards to grab rebounds. She sealed defenders in the paint with a strong, athletic base and scored several layups through contact. Katelyn should be on every D2, D3, and NAIA program’s radar right now.

Katelyn competed at a high level for New Lothrop at Northwood Team Camp 2 and showed why she is one of the most promising prospects in her class. She drove hard to the basket, scoring a fearless layup through contact and playing through pain. Katelyn knocked down 3s from the corner and the wing then scored many layups in transition after creating steals. Katelyn split defenders off the dribble with a crossover to score another left layup and effectively finished around the basket.

Wendling was the top underclassman at the Northwood team camp in my opinion. She is a long, athletic guard who can score at all three levels. She uses her length to her advantage on both ends of the floor against smaller guards. She moves well without the ball in her hands and can also lead the break with ease.

Wendling is a long guard who can get to the rim with different moves, she used a fake spin to get to the rim and scored a contested lay-up. She is a hustle player who is constantly diving on the floor for every loose ball. She rebounds at a high rate from her guard position.

Wendling is an exciting prospect herein Michigan with a lot of both talent and upside. She’s tall with length, but has excellent ball skills and shooting abilities as well. Even just a freshman, Wendling can be a matchup nightmare for her opposition. She’s shown the ability to go off on the offensive end, and if she does, that’s a great sign for New Lothrop.

is an athletic guard for New Lothrop. She showed off her endless motor to get open moving through screens and making her defender chase her around the court. Katelyn high pointed a lob and exploded up for a finish off two feet. She has the strength and toughness to battle inside; she can score outside as well.
