The Biggest Senior Sleeper from All 50 States

Emma has not gotten a lot of love as she probably should from the next level because many feel she is too one-dimensional as a senior. She is one of the best shooters in the state from behind the arc and does not need a lot of space to get her shot off. She would be a great pickup for a program looking for someone who can space the floor.

Brooklyn Rollman is a 6’2 post with an old school, back to the basket game. She has the size and strength to bury her defender under the rim, and when she catches deep, it’s a bucket. This season her scoring double from 5.6 points per game to 10 (and her efficiency didn’t drop a tick). She’s been a high level rebounder her whole career, but now that she’s added the offensive side, she’s turned herself into an underrated double double machine.

Cassie is a prospect at a smaller school who would benefit from more exposure. She has excellent ball instincts and scores the ball effortlessly. She has a variety of moves to get her shot off. She gets her points in the flow of the offense and is also a good passer.

Holy smokes… just watch her highlights. She’s a defensive wrecking crew all by herself! At 6’5, her four blocks per game are great, but the number of shots she alters, or even keeps the opposition from taking in the paint for fear of being blocked, is staggering. Offensively, her skillset is still developing, but she’s averaged 10 points per game at just under 50% shooting. She has offers, but primarily from small colleges/community colleges….and after watching the film, I simply think she’s much better than that. Some college coach is about to get really lucky when they sign Brownlee.

Sofia is an impressive defender. She is physical and aggressive. She is excellent at containing players in open court as well as putting on tough pressure in order to get a turnover. She is also proficient in sinking three-point shots.

Tahlaya Biglow provides value as a floor general and a disciplined decision-maker while handling the ball. Regaining her speed throughout her final season at Doherty, she remains one of the top unsigned guards in Colorado.

Stevens is rated relatively low in PGH New England’s top Class of 2024 prospect rankings list, but the two-sport star has shown significant growth over this season. A previous NEPSAC All-Star, Stevens has become a leader on the court, helping to run the point for the Dragons with immense success. Her three-point shooting has been her strong suit above anything and she’s excelled at it, able to knock down several a game when she gets on a roll.

Laci Mast is an aggressive guard that can do a plethora of different things on the hardwood. She is a constant producer on and off of the ball, she moves well down the floor at a quick pace, and she understands her surroundings at all times. Mast is a multiple sport athlete and it shows. Every time she takes the floor, she is her teams most productive player and it’s obvious. This winter was a memorable one for Mast as it pertain to the high school floor. She demonstrated each evening that she was someone the opposing team was going to have to game plan for and when that’s the case, you can tell that she is a baller.

Anjela plays with a passion on the floor that is special. She is an intimidating force on defense who blocks shots and alters a lot more shots. She rebounds well on both ends of the floor. She is a three point shooter’s best friend because she looks for her shooters after drawing the defense in.

Kendall Davis is the ultimate glue kid. The 5’9 inside-out wing is incredibly diverse in her skillset. She’s a 1,000 point scorer for her career that does most of her damage by getting to the rim. Her length allows her to finish above or around most shot blockers. She’s also added the 3 ball to her game over the past two seasons as she extends her range. Her skillset is a bit old school, and that has kept her under the radar, but the kid is a bucket when she get to the rim… and it’s pretty much impossible to keep her from the rim!

The 5’11 PG is a next level player. She’s not on a ton of postseason radars as her team got put out early, but she’s been special all season long. While she’s under the general public’s radar, she isn’t under the radar for college coaches—she’s played the last 2 AAU season’s on Jason Kidd’s select team, and picked some huge offers. She plays with a fluidity that is hard to find… she’s creative in her footwork, big enough to make an impact in the paint but also is a lights out three point shooter, and her intuition as a scorer is incredibly high.

I really like this kid’s game! She’s loaded with the stuff you can’t teach: height, length, athleticism, and fluidity. Her athleticism is fantastic for her size! She also has been her team’s leader this year averaging 11 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. What I love the most is her ability to stretch the floor from three for her size: she hit 62 threes at a 36% clip as a 5’11 wing!! Mertes is way under the radar.

After suffering an injury last season, Grace’s return was highly anticipated. Throughout the season she put on scoring clinics countless times. However, when she arrived at Redbird Arena, her future home… she went into a different mode. Regardless of the outcome of the finals, Nelson was able to show her ability to be effective on a college court. She shot the ball well behind the college line, and seemed to be able to keep up from a stamina standpoint too. Her movements have purpose, and there’s no flash to her game. She’s one of those players who will probably have a better collegiate career… and that’s saying a lot. A heck of a basketball player.

Lauren is a high-energy, tough-nosed point guard prospect who plays with urgency. She is skilled with the ball, she has good court vision, and she can knock down shots when needed. She is an effortful defender, plus she is a vocal leader who is always engaged in the action, whether she’s in the game or not.

Thompson has been a talent catching the eyes of recruiters for years now because of her mixture of height and coordination. She would be considered a Forward, who can definitely produce in more ways than one. She uses her length to dominant smaller defenders offensively, while using her outstretched arms to usually get a tip, block, or deflection near the painted area on defense.

Davis has quick, good footwork and scores well around the hoop with creativity and athleticism. Her quickness is also evident when defending on the perimeter. She uses her length and and quick hops to block and challenge shots. Davis also is a credible three point shooter and has the handles and speed to go coast-to-coast off the rebound.

Jordan has faced a lot of adversity over the last 2 years with teammates facing season-ending injuries. She has responded by putting up some of the most impressive numbers in Kentucky, including averaging a double-double and leading her team in scoring, rebounding, and field goal percentage. Jordan has excellent length and versatility. While she can do a lot of damage around the basket, she also forces opponents to extend out on both ends of the floor with her ability to knock down jumpers or outside shots on the offensive end and her shot-blocking skills defensively.

The senior combo guard has put together a really nice four-year career for Madeville. She helped lead her team back to state this season, and while the other Benoit on the team (Alanna Benoit) get’s most of the attention (and she’s awesome!), it’s Hannah Benoit that has been sneaky good for them. She’s an extremely smart player that seems to only care about winning. Her scoring averaged dropped slightly this year as she allowed more shots to go to her teammates, and she learned to play as more of a facilitator. She’s great at finding the soft spots against a zone, cutting backdoor against man, etc….just all the high IQ stuff you want to see in a player, Hannah Benoit shows. She averaged 13 points, 9 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 3.5 steals as the ultimate high-level role player.

Despite coming up short in the MPA Class B state championship game, Degrasse had a fantastic senior season for the Coyotes. This entire playoff run has been filled with solid performances from her, including a 15-point effort in the regional final. Old Town reached places it hadn’t for more than three decades, all thanks to pieces like Degrasse, a tenacious player with a desire to win and a competitive drive like no other.

Quinones has been an integral piece on one of the best teams in Massachusetts this season. She experienced significant success as an eighth grader and freshman, and we’re once again seeing that come to the forefront as a senior. Averaging just under 12 points per game this season, Quinones has brought a mature, calming presence on the floor. With a smooth shooting stroke and a knack for scoring, she’s executed consistently at a high level for the Golden Eagles.

Larissa is long, athletic, and a fierce competitor. She racked up over 1,000 points and rebounds at LakeVille Memorial with her smooth finishes around the rim, relentless rebounding, and explosive speed in transition.

Karly is testament to the old adage, “Slow and steady wins the race.” From the beginning of her high school career, the unassuming power forward has put in the work and let her game do the talking. What began as a whisper has turned into a roar as Karly worked her way up to the EYBL Circuit and evolved into a Division 1 commit to the University of Idaho. She is a physical presence at both ends of the floor with a sweet touch around the rim. How sweet? In early February, Jusczak had a 63-point game, one of the best performances in Minnesota history.

The senior went from averaging 6 points a game to 14 this year. She also added 8 rebounds a game (5 of those are offensive!) which is ELITE for a 5’7 combo guard. She’s averaged over 3 assists, 2.5 steals, and a block. The senior’s fingerprints were all over this season’s box scores. Super sleeper!

A 5’9″ guard who enjoyed a tremendous varsity career at Class 1 St. Joe Christian. She is a potent offensive player who can score from anywhere on the court. She averaged more than 20 points a game in leading Christian to a district championship.

Toryn is an impressive presence in the paint on both ends of the floor. She battles hard for rebound position and can finish well inside making her a double-double machine.

Stricklin is a quick PG with fast hands and a knack for being in the right place at the right time. She moves effortlessly with the ball, leading her offensive coming down the floor in both the half-court and full. Three-level scorer with the ability to create and distribute.

Savannah Stoker has been “her” for a few years now and that’s not going to change any time soon by the looks of it. Stoker is a Shooting Guard and a difference maker on and off of the ball. She understands her role on her team, while being offensively gifted with the ball in her hands. She is a multiple sport athlete, that makes her presence know in whatever she is putting her mind too. This season she averaged 22 points per game for her Lowry High School and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. As it pertains to “sleepers”, that are still uncommitted, Stoker is one of them.

McLaughlin ended up becoming one of the best scorers in NHIAA Division II as a senior, and it started from her first game this season, a 30+ point effort. She’s a gamer, a prolific scorer, someone who can score everywhere and anywhere on the floor. From knocking down threes to settling for a midrange 17-foot jumper, to driving into the lane for a tough two, she’ll do it all to get her team the win.

Jackie had a senior season for the books, but because Wallkill Valley doesn’t necessarily play the toughest of schedules and didn’t produce a ton of win this season, I feel she was vastly overlooked. Her senior season was incredible: 30.4 points, 13.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 5.2 blocks & 2.6 steals, a state-leading six triple-doubles (including two consecutive), eighteen double-doubles, three 20+ rebound games, fifteen 30+ points games and a season-high 44 points. She finished her career with 1,848 points & 1,118 rebounds.

The senior PG shined this season, and truly came into her own. She flies under the radar because her scoring numbers don’t pop (7 points a game), but to a real student of basketball—you see Boies’ value isn’t in the scoring: it’s in her distribution. She’s one of the best passing PGs I’ve seen, and until I’ve seen verifiable proof, I’m not certain she doesn’t have eyes in the back of her head. She averaged 7.2 assists this year leading NM. She is a top tier PG in the state… and she hasn’t gotten much attention.

Wylder has great size and footwork in the post, and a natural feel for the game. She has active hands, is a good passer, and can impact the game as a true rim protector in the paint. Once her offense catches up with her defense, she’s going to be a problem at the D1 level.

Surratt took a major leap as a senior for Crest, and I don’t think it’s gotten enough pub. She’s another kid I’ve found that the offers don’t match the skill set. Monica Surratt turned herself into a 17 point, 6 rebound, 2 assist guard—and her offers are mainly from very small schools. She’s an efficient scorer (48% from two, 38% from three), and those numbers translate. She also averages 6 rebounds—rebounds always translate to the next level. Monica Surratt is WAY under the radar.

Berg led her team to the State Championship, was All-WDA, and Co-WDA Senior Athlete of the Year. Jersey has a terrific mid-range pull-up game and she is a high-percentage shooter. She plays calm & cool, and has the size & strength to play at the next level. Jersey has a great feel for the game with prestigious basketball bloodlines.

Addy had a phenomenal season at Marysville and was a key part of their success this season. She has a very consistent perimeter game including out behind the arc, while being able to produce downhill to the rim. She plays the game under control and has a smart basketball IQ.

Even while being a top ranked prospect in the state & signing on to play D1 hoops at Oral Roberts, Mary doesn’t get nearly the national coverage she deserves! Averaging 11 points, 8.9 rebounds & 2.8 blocks, her tenacity on both ends, but especially her fierce rim protection, helped guide Idabel to its first state championship in a win vs Washington earlier this month.

Jade Snyder has been a double-double machine for Oakridge all season long. Playing alongside her twin sister, Sadie, who one of the most elite guards in the state, Jade does not always get the attention that she deserves for her incredible play. In the three games of the 2A state tournament last weekend, Jade put up 7 points, 16 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal in the opening loss to Bandon; 13 points, 19 rebounds, and 5 assists in the the ensuing win over Stanfield; and she finished her career going 11-20 from the field — including 6-8 from beyond the arc — to end with 36 points, 15 rebounds, 5 steals, and 2 assists to secure 4th place in the state and second team all-tournament. Snyder has been having incredible performances like this throughout her impressive career.

Garcia just capped off her high school career with a state title as Toll Gate knocked off Exeter-West Greenwich for the RIIL Division III title in early March. Able to score in a number of different ways, Garcia has made her presence felt on both sides of the ball. Her defense has arguably been her greatest strength, shutting down top scorers on opposing teams all season. Toll Gate doesn’t hoist hardware this season without Garcia’s role on this team.

Brown really showcased her skills this season for the Lady Cardinals. Savannah plays the game at times as a point forward with her crafty passing skills. She can play face-up to the basket and really showcases a soft touch around the basket. Savannah helped the Lady Cardinals get to the Class 2A State Championship Game this past season.

Courtney is a dynamic point guard who has a knack for creating for herself and others. She has elite vision and passing skills that create excellent shot opportunities for her teammates. Immense range and the ability to create her own shot round out her immense offensive skill. On defense she has a high IQ and an off the charts motor and does a nice job putting pressure on her opponent.

Pepp is skilled and heady, and able to overcome adversity like being injured at the wrong time. She’s still been playing at a high level in front of college coaches. I always say, you can’t teach certain things and heart is one of them.

Tausinga is a player that can really create for herself and others, her wiggle on the ball is really impressive. She is under the radar but she can play at a high level. She will be a steal at the NJCAA level for sure.

Talented, full of hustle, and she plays the right way. Davison’s a hard-nosed player who finishes at each level and distributes intuitively, making her a versatile playmaker. On the other end, Caitlyn impacts winning with tough defense, smarts, and the ability rebound and push. A dynamic combo-guard who’s easy to trust.

Anna Helstrom is a gifted offensive player. She carries almost all of her team’s offensive responsibility, so I think that’s a big reason her efficiency isn’t great. She is a great shooter, has elite vision, and rebounds really well for a guard.

Holy smokes, watch the kid’s twitter highlights from the state tournament! Her end-to-end speed is off the charts, plus she has the hesitation move package figured out (with either hand) which makes everything more effective for her off the bounce. She’s an incredible finisher at the rim, and possesses elite court vision.

Ava has played at a program that had been uncompetitive in the FVA. In her senior season, she was outstanding, earning first-team All-FVA honors, which has traditionally only gone to scholarship-level talent. Hanson took her team to the next level and competed with some of the best players in the state. She’s among the leaders in steals and assists in the FVA and led the conference in assists.

Cami has all the skills and physical attributes needed to succeed in the modern game. At 5’11”, long, and athletic she can play and defend multiple positions on the floor. She has a consistent stroke from beyond the arc and finishes in traffic as well.
