Makenzie recently called game and knocked down a three point shot to beat a very good WV Thunder Perry team in a game that I was watching at Lakepoint. She was outstanding in the game against a highly thought of point guard from Indiana, Maddy Wallace, who has multiple college offers already. Tiny played an excellent game leading up to the game winner against very good competition in her head to head matchup. She has been very good in every game I have seen her play coming off a very good season with Holy Innocents in high school ball. She is a player to watch the next time the rankings are updated, as she could see a big move up with continued stellar play.

Tiny was excellent every game I watched Holy Innocents play this regular season, including in the state championship game. Offensively she does as good a job as anyone running the point guard position both distributing the ball to her talented teammates in positions where they can score while also being a serious threat to score herself. That she is, as Tiny uses her cat-like quickness to blow by defenders and get into the paint where she has a very nice finishing package of lay ups and floaters. Weaver is also an excellent shooter from behind the three point line and was consistently making shots all weekend. Defensively, she and her sister Makayla, are two of the very best on-ball defenders in the state and both get multiple steals on the ball and easy lay ups in transition as a result. Size does not matter when it come to Tiny. Her skills and athleticism should overshadow her height when it comes to playing on th next level. I have no reservations about saying that.

The three-point shot was a major weapon for Makenzie as she splashed three long balls in the first half in a 65-59 win over Milton. The tiny guard netted a three from the corner and hit a transition pull-up. Even being the smallest player on the floor, Makenzie still showed bite as she finished with 9 points and 8 rebounds. Weaver will play a huge role moving forward in the Golden Bear backcourt.

Makenzie showed off her range knocking down three three point shots, including one pull up three in transition. Weaver is a very quick guard who loves to push the pace. She handles the ball well and does a good job finding open teammates. Weaver did a great job passing to the posts where they could score. Her post entry passes were set up well with fakes. Weaver plays extremely hard on the defensive end pressuring the ball and jumping into passing lanes. She helped her team on the boards as well grabbing eight rebounds.

The four teams that had Wood Elite E40 15U on its schedule knew that they had to put together sound game plans to earn a win over this team. Weaver is anything but easy to game plan for. One of the team’s impressive performances was in a 56-17 victory over The SisterHood Lady Lions 15U Grim E40. Weaver tallied nine points. She is an effective 3-point shooter with a very high motor, an accurate passer, an efficient floor runner and plays effective defense. Not too many freshmen can call themselves a state champion. Weaver can after the superb season she had to help Holy Innocents experience 2A state glory this past season.

Weaver got the honor of calling to herself a state champion when her Golden Bears departed from the Macon Coliseum having defeated Hebron Christian by a final of 57-39 for the 2A state crown. Regardless of if it is under Macon’s bright lights or in grassroots ball, Weaver ensures her play is always at a championship level. One way she does this is by adding a 3-point dimension to a team’s offensive efforts. Weaver can handle the ball even in precarious situations and has no issues splitting defenses to ensure strong finishes at the rim. She scored nine points in that rout of The SisterHood Lady Lions 15U Grim E40.

Impact energy provider with her tenacious defense. Speedy defender gets underneath ball handlers and makes them uncomfortable. Turns defense into offense. Can hit the open three and create for others as a playmaker off the dribble.
