Alaysia is a strong pick up for Indian Creek. Standing 5’7″ allows her to guard 1-4 and play 1-3 within the B-bracket of the MIAA.

Howard brings an edge to the team especially when the second unit is on the court, as she is interviewing to be a strong candidate as a secondary point guard. She can use her strength to get to the basket or pull up.

Defensively, her athleticism stands out. She jumped the passing lane multiple times during their press. Once defending in the half court setting she was able to stay in front her opponent and bang in the paint for boards.

Howard showed strength and body control around the basket, using a reverse layup to finish from the other side of the rim. She was also strong on the defensive glass, elevating for rebounds and showing she can handle the ball up the floor after securing it. She got her hands on the ball and made it difficult for opponents to execute.

Howard is an aggressive downhill attacker who gets to the basket, embraces contact, and uses her body well to create space and finish around defenders. She crashes the boards, secures loose balls, disrupts ball handlers with active hands, and runs defensive plays into transition opportunities. She also moves well without the ball, makes purposeful cuts to the basket, and attacks gaps.
