Anaya is a player I’ve watched closely over the years and have always been a fan of. A true two-way guard, she is a reliable threat from beyond the arc and a stifling perimeter defender who competes hard from start to finish every time she steps between the lines. After missing the end of her junior season and the entire AAU season due to injury, Anaya has returned this year and is averaging 4 points and 3 rebounds per game for a George Rogers Clark team that looks poised to make a run at the state championship. A “3-and-D” guard with a high basketball IQ, she could be a steal for a college program looking for a player who impacts winning.
A proven sharpshooter who brings experience and athleticism to the Lady Cardinals! Anaya has been a major contributor since her freshman season, when she led the varsity team in three-pointers made (39) and three-point percentage (36.8%). Expect her to deliver more big shots when it matters most!
Anaya missed the bulk of her Junior year after an injury but has had a good AAU summer and looks primed for a big role in her Senior season. GRC will need to replace Jaileen Green and Ciara Byars. Anaya should be able to be counted on to step up and fill a bigger role in her Senior season.
Speaking of the loaded GRC roster, Chestnut checks in at 5th in our rankings this time around. Anaya’s shooting efficiency dipped this season but she still has the potential to be a star for the next two seasons.

. Her effort on both ends of the floor was critical for GRC. She played unselfish and did a good job finding open teammates, racking up several assists in the game. Chestnut also played excellent on-ball defense and showed poise in the 4th quarter, knocking down a clutch 3-pointer from the wing that kept her team in the game.
Yeast’s teammate for both high school and AAU, Chestnut is enduring a slow start to her Sophomore season but her prospect ceiling remains very high. A future D1 signee, Anaya is a versatile guard whose future remains very bright.
Chestnut has been putting in work all spring and summer. She’s a high IQ player who works hard every second she’s on the floor. She can be relied on to lockup the opposing team’s best guard while also making smart plays on the offensive end of the floor. She makes some tough drives to the basket and she makes those tough to defend with her ability to finish in different ways and her ability to kick when help steps over. She can also knock down shots from all over the court and has strong handles. While she played a big role for GRC last season, I expect that role to grow even more this upcoming season which says a lot considering some of the big transfers they have had come into their program in the off-season.
Chestnut also made a jump in this rankings update. She showed a lot in her freshman season with George Rogers Clark and while some of those things didn’t show up in the stats, they definitely were obvious when you watched her play. She took every defensive assignment she was given and proved that she is one of the top defenders in the 2026 class. GRC played a tough schedule and Chestnut only improved as the season went on. While she’s very much so a team player who wants to make plays for others, she showed glimpses of her own scoring ability as well. There’s never a question when it comes to how hard she plays as she’s always giving 110% effort. Chestnut averaged 5.8 PPG and 3.7 RPG as a freshman.
