Avery finished among the state’s leading scorers, averaging a whopping 28.2 points per game while posting elite shooting splits of 50/42/85. She led ACS to a strong 22–9 season, surpassed the 2,500-point milestone, and etched her name in program history as the Lady Patriots’ all-time leading scorer. Avery also helped guide ACS to its first region tournament win since 2015. Her dominant junior campaign earned her 4th Region Player of the Year honors by the coaches, First Team All-Region recognition, and she added two Division I offers to her bag from Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky. She looks to garner even more attention this spring/summer on the EYBL circuit with Kentucky Premier 17U.

Avery Morris Avery Morris 5'8" | PG Metcalfe County | 2027 State KY delivered a magnificent performance in the quarterfinals of the 4th Region Tournament, finishing with a game-high 38 points along with seven assists and four rebounds. Morris was unconscious from deep, hitting seven of her 10 attempts from three and stayed perfect at the free-throw line, going 9/9. Her outstanding effort helped the Lady Patriots secure their first region tournament victory since the 2014–15 season. Morris continues to put together an incredible year and is making a strong case as one of the top juniors in the state.

Avery broke the all time record for program history in the game at South Warren High School on February 17, 2026. She scored 33 points in the game to become the all time leading scorer in program history as a Junior. She currently has 2,450 points and counting!

Avery is an offensive force who can attack the rim, knock down the three, and convert at the free throw line at a high level. One of the top scorers in the state, and her 2A State Tournament performance was unforgettable.

Against Green County, Avery scored 33 points, 9 steals, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. This D1 prospect checks every box. She can shoot from the outside, drive and finish through contact, create chaos defensively, and brings strength to the guard position!

Avery had a big-time sophomore season, where she averaged a team-best 23.5 points per game (9th in the state) along with 3.4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2.4 steals. She showcased her scoring ability with 17 games of 21+ points and earned All-Region First Team honors. Over the spring and summer, Avery took her talents to the EYBL circuit with Kentucky Premier 16U, where she continued to shine and picked up her first Division I offer from Mercer University back in June, followed by another offer from Campbellsville University a couple weeks ago.

Avery displayed excellent ball-handling skills and the ability to create off the dribble, constantly putting pressure on the defense by attacking the basket. She absorbed contact and still finished strong at the rim, or got free throw opportunities with her aggressiveness. A tough competitor with a never-back-down attitude, Avery brings intensity and determination every time she steps on the floor.

After averaging 23.5 points per game and finishing among the top 10 scorers in the state as a sophomore, it was only a matter of time before Division I coaches started taking notice. Avery’s recruitment is just getting started and more offers are likely on the way.

A prolific and efficient scorer, Avery can get a bucket from all areas of the floor. She plays with confidence and puts pressure on opposing defenses with her aggressive mindset and scoring versatility. She has sharp instincts on defense, often disrupting passing lanes and forcing turnovers. This spring and summer, she’s competing on the EYBL circuit with Kentucky Premier 16U, continuing to sharpen her game against top-tier national talent.

The do-it-all guard is one of the states leading scorers, averaging 23.6 ppg. Avery is a talented bucket-getter who shoots the ball efficiently from the field and from beyond the arc. She has good instincts on defense and does a good job being disruptive and coming away with steals.
