Wansley is one of the 16U division’s top defensive playmakers, ranking top 5 in steals (3.0 SPG) with her active hands and effort. On the offensive end, she attacks the basket, embraces contact on her drives, and finishes through traffic while putting pressure on opposing defenses. She also creates extra possessions by crashing the offensive glass for putbacks and does a great job finding open space around the basket to make herself available for easy scoring opportunities.

Cecilia’s game simply can’t be put into a box. As a freshman, she already shows the ability to play—and defend—every position on the floor with confidence and composure well beyond her years. That level of versatility makes her one of the more intriguing prospects in the group.

She impacts the game in multiple ways, and as she continues to grow, the next step will be expanding her offensive arsenal to match her all-around presence.

Look for Cecilia to use this summer as a key developmental stretch—building her scoring and playmaking—so she’s fully prepared to contribute to a nationally ranked St. John’s squad this winter.

Cecilia Wansley is an outstanding two-way wing product. Cecilia does well attacking the rim, and she has a good handle. Cecilia moves well without the ball, and I think she will adjust well to high school basketball. Cecilia has the potential to be a special defender with her versatility at her length. She will be at St. John’s, and she should be a nice fit there.

Has good length and athleticism for her position. Even at her size now she already has good ball handling skills. Cecliia is good off the dribble getting to her spot to score. She does a great job of running the floor in transition and finishes around the rim. Defensively, she can guard all over the floor with her length on the perimeter!
