Sloan established herself as one of the top defenders in the gym with her relentless effort, anticipation, and activity on every possession. She has exceptionally quick hands, consistently disrupting the offense with deflections, steals, and by getting into passing lanes. Her defensive instincts allowed her to create easy scoring opportunities in transition, where she excelled in the open floor. Offensively, she showed great body control by going from a full sprint to stopping on balance for the pull-up jumper, knocking down shots with confidence. Her ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor, especially with her defensive intensity and transition play, made her one of the more impressive performers of the event.

Sloan, is fast with and without the ball.

Her best attribute from Saturday was her defensive presence. Her multi sport athleticism allows her to play with discipline, as she is able to defend full court while turning her hips to stay in front of her defender without fouling.

Offensively, she is just as fast and shifty in the open court and can get downhill quickly. With the ball in hand, Sloan’s best in the mid range where she can cross you over then pull up. She is solid behind the arc when her feet ar set.

Sloan is a multi-sport athlete whose lacrosse background shows up particularly well on the defensive end. She was tasked with guarding a Division I commit — a clear sign of the trust her coaches already have in her when energy and competitiveness are needed. Offensively, she can contribute inside and out, knocking down a clean three-pointer and attacking the basket with confidence. With continued growth, her role and minutes should trend upward as the season progresses.
