-Have to point out how good she was defensively as well, moved feet very well and was aggressive

-Creative ballhandler with shake n bake to get by defenders and create scoring opportunities for herself and others

Casey may not have imposing size, but the 5’6 guard plays considerably bigger thanks to exceptional quickness, athleticism and an infectious competitive streak. Emma is a shifty ball handler with a quick first step who attacks the basket aggressively and has the body control to finish creatively, including an effective Euro-step. She complements that slashing ability with reliable perimeter shooting and has the vision and decision-making ability to facilitate for teammates. Casey might be even more impressive defensively. She moves exceptionally well laterally, applies relentless ball pressure and frequently picks up opposing guards full court. After making an impact on varsity as an 8th grader at Rapid City Central, Emma moves to Sioux Falls Roosevelt with an advanced skill set, a high basketball IQ and the type of motor that should translate regardless of the competition.

When the high school season opened late last fall, Emma was on the junior varsity squad at Rapid City Central. It didn’t take long, however, for the 5’4 guard to earn a promotion to the top team and she made the most of her varsity opportunity. Watching how she went about her business on Saturday that comes as no surprise. Casey is quick, athletic and super-shifty. She attacked the basket with gusto, showing off some nice moves including a slick Euro-step. She is a quality shooter who can knock it down from distance. We loved her aggressive defending on the perimeter and her obvious work ethic. Casey’s parents were both accomplished athletes – mom a three-sport competitor in high school and dad playing basketball at South Dakota State. Her brother Riley is a highly accomplished player, as well. That’s always a great place to start.
