If you had never seen Loof play before Sunday’s Expo, you would have left with one impression firmly ingrained in your memory: Henlee can shoot the heck out of the basketball. The 5’10 junior guard from Sioux Falls Roosevelt spent the afternoon launching bomb after bomb, repeatedly creating just enough separation to unleash her devastating step-back jumper. Her execution is nearly flawless, with a smooth release, soft touch and remarkable consistency. She makes difficult shots look ridiculously easy. Loof also uses her shooting reputation to draw defenders outside, then attacks off the bounce with an assortment of moves and a sweet floater. Henlee made a big leap up the 2028 rankings to #12 when we updated our list this summer. On Sunday Loof delivered another performance that suggests she may be climbing higher.

Loof makes one of the biggest moves in the rankings, climbing from #20 to #12 after repeatedly showing us there is much more to her game than elite perimeter shooting. Henlee’s quick trigger, high release and clean mechanics make her one of the state’s best young shooters, but Loof has become an increasingly complete offensive player. She is patient, rarely forces the issue and can attack closeouts with a pull-up, floater or Euro-step while finishing through contact. Her footwork is excellent and she plays with unusual poise and efficiency for a young guard. Defensively, Loof uses her length and lateral quickness to disrupt passing lanes. Add increasing strength to an already polished skill set, and her trajectory continues pointing upward.

I loved what I saw from Loof, both in terms of current production but also long-term possibilities. Henlee is a smooth, confident guard who efficiently produces results with her balanced offensive game. The 5’9 standout from Sioux Falls Roosevelt is a strong perimeter shooter with a quick trigger and clean mechanics, making her a threat from deep. She’s also pretty athletic showing bounce to the rim and the ability to elevate above her defenders for clean looks. Defensively, Henlee moves well laterally and competes on the ball, holding her own against quality guards. She plays with poise and confidence, rarely forcing the issue. With her combination of shooting, athleticism, and composure, Loof has a bright future.
