Grace Lucero Miner was a standout player on the UA Circuit this weekend with her prime shooting and scoring ability off of the basketball. Not only was she making some tough buckets, she was also getting after in defensively. She was in her defenders zone, trying to create chaos whenever plausible and that became noticeable for spectators from the outside. When you look at the big picture of everything going on in Lucero Miner’s life right now, she is going to have a chance to return this Winter as the best SG in the state in more ways than one if she can keep progressing as this AAU season blazes on.

To play as a Freshman at Millard West High School is something to note because of how good they are as a program. Someone that is currently seeing time for this group as a 2029 is Grace Lucero-Miner. Lucero-Miner is the definition of a lights out shooter from deep. She would be categorized as a 3-point specialist. She is the type that once she gets over half court, she will need to be marked by opposing teams or else she might have a career night. We will need to see Miner produce consistently when she can on the Varsity floor for the rest of the year, leading into AAU season. If she makes the most of her opportunities, she will light the state up to no surprise.

The best overall shooter in this Class is Grace Lucero Miner Grace Lucero Miner 5'6" | SG/PG Millard West | 2029 State NE of Millard West High School and she is looking to make a big impression over the next eight months. Miner is one of those that can let it fly from anywhere over the half-court line and it looks like it is going to be good. If you don’t tag her early and she see’s one of her first go-in, it could be a long night for the competition. Honestly, even if she doesn’t have one of her first shots go in, she is one of those shooters that just needs to see one go in and she might take things over from there. There is going to be a lot of chances for 2029’s this Winter to make an impact in their respective program and Miner is definitely in that conversation.

GLM is the first 2029 prospect out of Nebraska to receive a collegiate offer at this time and that offer was to D2-UNK out of Kearney. Coach Drew Johnson knows what’s up. GLM is a baller already and she is just stepping into her Freshman year at Millard West. As you can tell, GLM might be young but she can GO. She can shoot the ball at a college level already, she possesses a respectable handle and ability to create, while being a menace defensively on and off of the ball. All in all, I’m more curious about what GLM becomes at the end of the day compared to anything else. If she takes the correct steps with the right guidance, the sky is the limit for this one.

If you have been following along for the past couple of years, you know that Grace Lucero Miner Grace Lucero Miner 5'6" | SG/PG Millard West | 2029 State NE is going to be a killer at the SG spot with her Millard West High School team over her career. I refer to Miner as little Jimmer Ferdette. A volume shooter, that has a chance to let it go off the catch or dribble with very limited space and time on the clock. Over the past season GLM has demonstrated that she is also adding a lot of skills to her bag as a PG. Over-time, she could have the ability to slide over and play the 1 if need be. If she learns to facilitate as well as she shoots, opponents better watch out because then we are talking about a future D1 player.

I am excited to see how GLM does during her Freshman season at Millard West. Millard West is well ran and well known program. They do things the right way and they have a lot of success because of it. In almost any other situation, I’d say that GLM is a Varsity starter but I’m not sure with the Wildcats. They might have her play JV/Sophomores for a year to gain experience, but then it should be Varsity time. It could go either way and honestly, I think no matter what happens this upcoming season that she is going to be just fine. This is one of the best shooters I’ve ever seen at the middle school level from distance. As long as she continues to build on everything else, she will be on a college roster before you know it.

If Grace Lucero Miner Grace Lucero Miner 5'6" | SG/PG Millard West | 2029 State NE continue to be a pest on defense, finish consistently on both sides of the hoop through contact, and she continues to shoot from deep at this high of a rate – we are talking about a D1 or D2 level basketball player. When we first saw Miner a few years ago, she could shoot better than most in high school already but we needed to see her game evolve into a little more. Since then, that has seemingly happened. She is eating defensively, creating opportunities for others consistently because of it, and she is hitting every type of jumper you can imagine. If Lucero Miner gets in front of the right eyes on the road, I’m sure she will be offered before you know it.

Grace Lucero Miner Grace Lucero Miner 5'6" | SG/PG Millard West | 2029 State NE is a player that I have referred to as, “Jimmer Ferdette”, over her middle school career. Miner has a flamethrower on her. If you don’t know what that means, it means she can shoot the ball at a very high rate, at any spot over the half-court line. Sounds pretty crazy for a middler schooler but I’ve seen it multiple times in person and it is extremely impressive first-hand. Miner will join high school as the Top SG for the 2029 Class. She possesses an ability that could carry her to the college level with the right guidance. This is another one that will be going to Millard West so I’m not sure what her exact path will be in the high school ranks but no matter, I expect Miner to put together a career to remember at the high school level following this upcoming Spring/Summer AAU season.

It’s going to be exciting to see Grace Miner at the high school level this next Winter with Millard West. Miner would be categorized as a PG, that can shoot the leather off of the basketball from deep. Whenever she has the ball over half court, you need to have someone within reach because if not, it’s probably going up. The biggest question over the next four years will be her growth in the departments of everything else that isn’t handling, shooting, or defending. She obviously still needs to grow in those aspects as well but for her collegiate recruitment, that will depend on her overall game comparatively. Moving into the AAU season and Miner is looking pretty good so far. Hopefully she can keep that momentum up moving into Spring.

Grace Lucero Miner Grace Lucero Miner 5'6" | SG/PG Millard West | 2029 State NE is a name to know when you it comes to the 2029 Class out of Nebraska. Lucero Miner is a SG that can get hot in a hurry from deep. It doesn’t take much for Miner to start to get hot from the outside, while shooting the ball from far distances away from the basket. Her biggest question mark when it comes to her play is, will she settle? If she takes what the defense gives her and she continues to be able to shoot at this high of a rate, then we are speaking about a top prospect out of this Class moving forward.
