is another young, talented guard who is continuing to rise. Coming out of the class of 2030, she will be heading to Carmel this winter for her freshman year, where she’ll join a program that already has a strong group of returning guards. Adding Journie to that mix could be a major boost for the program.
She plays with a high level of confidence, especially when attacking the rim. Her ability to finish around the basket, combined with her skill set, makes her a tough matchup. She also shows the ability to stretch the floor by knocking down shots, which keeps defenders honest.
One of her more effective moves is her step-through when going downhill, allowing her to create separation and finish through defenders. Her craftiness and ability to score in multiple ways make her a difficult guard. She has also taken an unofficial visit to the University of Cincinnati, showing that college programs are already beginning to take notice of her potential.

brought energy and intensity on both ends of the floor this past weekend. Defensively, she was active and disruptive, constantly around the ball and forcing tough plays for opponents. Offensively, Johnson continues to elevate her game with improved consistency as a three-level scorer. She attacked the rim with control, showing the ability to finish through contact or make smart reads to find open teammates. With one more year before entering high school, Johnson’s combination of scoring ability and defensive presence will make her a valuable addition to the Northwestern girls basketball program next season.

Journie has already begun putting together a reputation as one of North Central Indiana’s better 2030 prospects. She plays a little 16U & 15U for the Indiana’s Best program, and it has helped her understand how to play with a bit more urgency, value each possession more, and play stronger with the basketball in her hands. She is shooting it consistently from the perimeter, but she is also a strong, aggressive driver who can get to the rim and finish.
