Sain, an offensive juggernaut from all scoring levels on the floor, is a real competitor in all facets of the game. She has the offensive fire power to change a game in a blink of an eye or can switch onto the other teams best player to lock them up on the defensive side of things when times are tough. A big part of her game is consistency. A factor which will really matter at the next level with where she is committed to play. If she keeps up working hard in the off-season while she continues to expand her game, she will be a consistent scorer and factor at the next level over the next few seasons, with the possibility of taking her talents even further then the college level before the end of her basketball career.

Cedar Rapids-Kennedy got a big three point victory over Cedar Falls high school on the road on Tuesday night. Kaliyah Sain Kaliyah Sain 5'10" | SF Cedar Rapids Kennedy | 2023 State IA led the charge scoring 25 points, 7 assists, and 6 steals while doing a little bit of everything in the win. Sain, who is off to a great start again this year for her senior season, is doing all she can when she steps on the court to will her team to victory. It is no easy challenge as they have lost a good amount of key players to graduation from a year ago. In the contest yesterday Sain controlled the game, played well and efficiently on both sides of the floor, and was a vocal leader to the teammates around her. She also received some help from her teammates in the win with some contributions from players such as Addy Alber who recorded 12 points, 12 rebounds, and Ella Moser Ella Moser 5'8" | SG Cedar Rapids Kennedy | 2025 State IA who had 11 points, 3 steals. For this team to make a big splash once playoffs come around everyone will need to continue to keep up production across the board. If they do that and Sain keeps up her great game play, Kennedy will be able to beat anyone in front of them on any given night.

Kaliyah Sain Kaliyah Sain 5'10" | SF Cedar Rapids Kennedy | 2023 State IA returns as the star of the show for the Cedar Rapids-Kennedy Cougars. The skilled combo guard is coming off of a great junior season as well as a great AAU summer with Team Iowa . Sain is a difference maker on the floor with her size, speed, athletic ability, and basketball skill. She is a match up nightmare for any forward trying to guard her on the perimeter, while also having an extra step against smaller guards because of her length. She can shoot the ball with a consistent high release and plays aggressive trying to get to the hoop. She doesn’t settle for bad shots and is good about making the right choice, wether it results in a bucket for herself or a teammate. This year will be a real test for Sain as she will be more of the focus for teams the Cougars play after the loss of a few key seniors from last year. She has been working hard in the offseason and will look to show her elevated game starting in the next few weeks.

Kaliyah returns for her senior season with only one thing on her mind; a state championship. Committing to D1 -Lindenwood University after having a very successful AAU summer it is no surprise that Sain will have a target on her back entering her senior season. After averaging 19 PPG as a junior and being the #7 scorer in 5A last year teams will have to know where she is on the floor at all times making it very hard for defense to plan against a solid Kennedy Cougars team.
