Another physical specimen who plays on both the basketball and volleyball courts is Silver Lake’s Deiter. She has the second-highest total of kills for the Eagles. She has registered 142 kills in Silver Lake’s first 42 sets played. The Eagles are a team that could make a run at state titles in both sports, which will benefit the small-school prospect’s exposure. She can play six rotations and has also recorded 28 aces this season to date. She is ranked No. 34 overall in the Kansas Class of 2028.

Deiter ran the floor extremely well and showed herself to be a dangerous three point shooter from anywhere once zoned in. She defended well within schemes and took care of the ball. Statistically she was inconsistent in her three 3A state tournament games but I anticipate that will improve with experience.

Strong all-around player. Loves defending. Plays full court basketball on both ends. Thrives off of playing the passing lanes, getting steals and transitioning into offense from there. As a freshman, Kary is already one of the leading scorers and the most significant player on the perimeter for the Silver Lake Eagles. Her shot form is textbook, and I fully expect her shooting to get even better. With that being said, on opening night of the 3A state tournament she shot 73% from the field and 66% from beyond the arc as a guard against the Girard Trojans in a dominant victory.

The graduation of a high percentage of the Eagles’ back court has opened the door for Deiter to step right in and fill a void. Watching video of her play Deiter’s athleticism, speed and handles in transition are readily apparent. She runs well and pushes the ball on the move. In knocking down four three pointers in the Eagles’ lone loss to Centralia Deiter showed an ability to hit them from all over and with range. She plays a big part of the Eagles’ full court playing style.

On a deep team with especially strong guard play Deiter picked up solid experienced with the defending 3A state champions. Graduations have opened the door for her to be next up. An unselfish player who passes well, she gets in and does the dirty work that does not show up in the box score.
