Tamia showed flashes of what she did last season for Douglass on Day 1 of the Sweet 16 and looked comfortable on the big stage. She got things going early with a three that hit nothing but net for the first points of the game, then followed it up with another triple from the corner, always having her feet set and ready to fire. Tamia also showcased her playmaking ability with a nice assist and added another three in the fourth quarter, finishing the game with four made triples.

During the 2024–25 season, Tamia averaged 12 points per game and was instrumental in the Lady Broncos success, helping them win the 42nd District title and their second 11th Region championship in three years, while also reaching the quarterfinals of the Sweet 16. With a Division I offer already in her bag along with all sorts of upside, she is definitely a name to watch moving forward.

is undoubtedly one of them. She wasted no time making an impact, hitting the first three of the game and showcasing impressive body control on a layup in the first quarter. For such a young player, her feel for the game and basketball IQ is already off the charts! Tamia’s defensive instincts were on display with a key steal in the second quarter, and when her team needed a spark, she delivered, drilling a much needed triple late in the second quarter to cut the Lady Broncos’ deficit to just three. She was also a perfect 4-for-4 in the first half.

Douglass is off to a strong start again this season. Waide is a good role player already and has the makings of a future star for the Lady Broncos. Tamia shoots the ball well from range and has the ability to guard multiple positions on defense as well.

Tamia set the tone early for Douglass and liked the level of intensity she played with throughout the game. She used active hands to come up with steals, had a couple fast break buckets, and made sure to get others involved. She also hit two from beyond the arc, including a clutch three to keep the game close with 27 seconds left to go. Tamia looks like she will be a key contributor for the Lady Broncos this season.
