Kinley is a dynamic duo alongside Welstad. She is a superior athlete for North Dakota players. She runs incredibly well and probably has one of the best verticals in the region. Her length and athleticism is what has earned her multiple Division 1 offers as well. Local powerhouse NDSU likes what they see in Thorton. Kinley sees the floor well and is a very solid offensive player. Century is so talented that Kinley can also dominate games without scoring a ton of points. The Patriots are going to be really tough to beat with Thorton and Welstad leading the way.

Thorton proved she has a knack for delivering in the biggest moments. Time and again, she buried momentum-shifting three-pointers that stretched her team’s lead just when Cy Fair threatened to make a run, and she calmly knocked down pressure-packed free throws late in the game. Her shot rarely looked in doubt, consistently producing clean swishes that reflected her confidence and repeatable shooting stroke. Thorton possesses the clutch gene and it will be very exciting to see how she develops these next three years.

Kinley Thorton Kinley Thorton 5'11" | SG Bismarck Century | 2029 State ND is another Patriot with offers from NDSU and USD. She received these offers before playing one minute of varsity basketball. She is a long 5’11 guard and extremely athletic. She moves well and is clearly a notch above others athletically. She is great at attacking the basket but can also space the floor with her outside shooting. Her length and lateral movement allow her to be a great defender at a young age. She is going to get noticed more this summer and I anticipate more offers coming her way. She finished this season as an All-WDA selection averaging 10.3 points, and 3.9 rebounds per game. She also shot 35% from three and 80% from the free-throw line.

Thorton is one of the more impressive athletes in the 2029 class. You can tell the second she starts playing why she has received two Division 1 offers already. She is going to have many more in the next two years. She has a very smooth shot and quick release. She is deadly from behind the arc, currently shooting 39% from three. Her ability to play inside and out and her length as a guard have her as one of the top prospects in the state.

Kinley is super athletic and long.  She is really good at getting downhill and attacking the basket.  Her aggressiveness is really impressive for someone so young.  She has a sweet looking shot and isn’t afraid to shoot it from deep.  Kenley has received two Division 1 offers before even playing a second of varsity basketball. Her two offers are from University of South Dakota and North Dakota State University. Kinley is going to be a superstar.
