[player_tooltip player_id='1312747' first='Kinley' last='Thorton'] is another Patriot with offers from NDSU and USD. She received these offers before playing one minute of varsity basketball. She is a long 5'11 guard and extremely athletic. She moves well and is clearly a notch above others athletically. She is great at attacking the basket but can also space the floor with her outside shooting. Her length and lateral movement allow her to be a great defender at a young age. She is going to get noticed more this summer and I anticipate more offers coming her way. She finished this season as an All-WDA selection averaging 10.3 points, and 3.9 rebounds per game. She also shot 35% from three and 80% from the free-throw line.

Kenley is really fun to watch due to how skilled of a guard she is. She has the ball on a string and is really difficult to turnover. She can do basically any dribble-combo you can think of. This allows her to create space in the half-court and set herself up for scoring opportunities. She excels in the midrange because of this. Kenley is an unselfish player and finds her open teammates. I like her use of the ball screen and how she uses that advantage to attack or pass to open teammates. Kenley is a true gym-rat. She loves basketball and loves finding ways to get better. She finished the season as an All-Region selection and an All-State selection, solidifying herself as one of the top players in the state.

Langdon Area-Munich has a state title in their future. Most of their players who played significant minutes are either 8th graders, freshmen, or sophomores. Avery spent a lot of the season recovering from a knee injury but persevered and found ways to make positive plays when she returned for the Cardinals. The two parts of Avery's game that stands out the most are her athletic ability and her aggressiveness to the basket. She is clearly one of the best athletes in the 2029 class. She sprints past defenders with ease and is fearless attacking the hoop. She draws many fouls throughout her games and often finds herself at the free-throw line. Watch out for the Cardinals to make some noise in 26-27 with a healthy Lorenz back in the lineup.

Minot will look a lot different next season, playing their first season in five years without Bell and Fricke. Despite looking different, the Majettes have enough pieces to be a serious threat in the WDA. Sisi is part of a group of talented returners that have patiently been waiting for their opportunities for expanded roles. I predict Sisi being an All-WDA selection next season as a sophomore. She is another elite athlete in this class and another efficient scorer. She shot 45% from the field and 36% from three. She plays tremendous defense and values the ball. She finished the 2025-2026 season with a 1.42 assist-to-turnover ratio. Stevick will have Minot storming back to state next season.

Macey is a stud. She was arguably Jamestown's best player last season as an 8th grader and was even better this year as a freshmen. She was selected as an All-WDA player and deservedly so. College coaches will immediately look and see that Macey is a college-level athlete with great height and length at 5'9. She is quick and speedy up the court and has an excellent first step. Her shooting ability really stands out amongst this 2029 class. She made 57 three-pointers on 41% shooting. It's scary to think what those numbers will look like when she is a senior.

Borr is a highly ranked prospect in the 2029 class because she has the frame of a Division 1 wing at 6'1 and good speed and jumping ability. Her length is also a feature that college coaches will love to have on their teams. She is able to stretch the floor from deep and could become elite from three with a little extra work in the gym. She has the athleticism to defend multiple positions and size to be an effective rebounder. I am anticipating Vanessa's role next season will increase substantially. She is a future All-EDC player and one that regional colleges should have on their recruiting lists.

Jada took a huge stride this year and earned herself All-EDC honors. She was one of only two freshmen in the East to be selected to the All-Conference team. Jada will be going into her 4th season playing varsity basketball in 2026-2027 and I expect her to take another big step next season. She has shown continual improvement and a strong desire to get better. She grinds in the offseason and plays on a good Sanford 15U Black squad. Johnson's very difficult to stop going to her left. If you cut her off, she is able to pivot and use an up-and-under move to get back to her strong hand.

I think Payton isn't even close to being how good she can be, and she is already a very good player! She is a long 5'9 and very athletic, probably one of the best athletes in Region 1. She glides up and down the court and is also a good jumper. She plays hard and dives on loose balls, showcasing her effort and enthusiasm to win games. She is an outstanding passer with high-level vision. She also has mastered passing one-handed and throws them on a dime to her teammates. The next step in her game is going to be her aggressiveness while looking for her own shot. She has the talent and skill to be a very good scorer, she just needs to look to score a bit more.

Willow began to see more varsity action this past season as a freshman and should solidify herself as a starter next season as a sophomore. She is Grafton's tallest player and will need to be utilized next season if the Spoilers are looking to improve upon their 6-14 finish. I know Demers is up for the challenge. She is a solid post and has a ton of potential as a prospect. I like her footwork around the rim and her catching ability. She has the frame where she can put on some strength and still maintain her athletic ability. Willow is going to be a muli-year Region 2 selection in the future.

Dickinson has been in a bit of a rebuild mode the previous two seasons. Stevenson has been a big piece of that rebuild, having major varsity contributions in both her 8th grade and freshman seasons. The Mavericks are due to start reaping some of the rewards that come with the growing pains of playing younger players and Ali will be at the forefront. She is a grinder and bruiser around the basket, unafraid of any physicality. Stevenson has the ability to play inside and out, both on offense and defense. She has future All-WDA potential if she keeps working hard and improving.
