An already beefed-up looking Newman squad has added Kimball to the equation. Baileigh will be able to help advance the team’s pace, shift the defense to open up things for her star teammates and bolster the backcourt’s defensive foundation. Kimball may not have the hype as other prospects just yet, but this is a difference-making move.

Kimball proved she can truly hold her own. She’s been under close watch since last season here when Baileigh was asked to fill the void of a major injury to her Marianapolis squad. Since then, it seems like her confidence has been on a new level. Kimball carried that over to AAU, where she was playing freely and never wavered under pressure. Baileigh brought her up-tempo effort which regularly made eye opening plays.

Baileigh displays excellent footwork around the basket, often using a smooth euro step to maneuver around defenders. She’s a reliable three-point shooter who spots up well from the corners and finishes comfortably with either hand. As a passer, she sees the floor well and consistently delivers accurate, on-time passes that put teammates in position to score.

Kimball’s recent film from Kentucky speaks volumes. She’s looked unstoppable as she pushed the pace in transition to get quality layups. It looked like she was playing on different game speed sliders than the competition. Baileigh has a knack for getting defenders on their heels or having them unbalanced in their positioning. Her willingness to create early offense has been a glaring attribute. Goodluck to those tasked with staying in front of her.

Kimball came in last year as somewhat of a sleeper, stepping up and making a name for herself with the absence of the team’s main star. Baileigh’s tenacity, downhill creation plus underrated defense are just some of the traits that helped established her. This weekend will be a good opportunity for Kimball to keep asserting herself as a true difference-maker.

Kimball is continuing to impress with her stifling downhill attacks to the basket, ability to create opportunities for others with the dribble and willingness to be a nagging defender especially in the open court. Baileigh should be in for a major summer; schools should start to pay attention her.

Baileigh is a quick, active guard who impacts both ends. She produces across the board with points, assists, and steals, and does a good job generating offense off the dribble. She finishes well through contact and makes the right reads on drive-and-kick situations. Defensively, she’s disruptive and sets the tone with her ability to create turnovers.

Baileigh went 5-0 this past weekend in AAU play for the Bay State Jaguars and made a strong impact on both ends. She finishes well through contact thanks to her balance around the rim and plays with active defensive instincts, especially in full-court pressure where she generates steals. Offensively, she draws attention when attacking and makes smart reads to kick out to open teammates.

Well, it no surprise Baileigh was a winner from the weekend. Her onslaught of 2-way attacks had a major impact. She’s playing with an unmistakable edge that’s giving her the advantage over the competition. Kimball’s pace, burst out triple threat, blazing downhill speed plus her reactive hands on defense were all factors in the success. The Jags ended the weekend 5-0 and Baileigh was key in the triumph of local play.

Kimball’s ascension has been tremendous to watch so far this year, she’s looking to make her mark early in AAU. Baileigh has grown into a grand tone setter whose dynamic ability to change speeds and lively 2-way activity will be more than enough to get the job done for the Jags.
