offers a credible source of scoring from the post, mid-post and the 3-point line. Her faceup game is lethal because of her high percentage midrange shot. She is a patient player that plays with a great pace. Mel gets off the ball fast to be able to shift the defense while she finds her spots in the cracks behind defenders. She’s a reliable option when the offensive breaks down due to her ability to finish with both hands. McCarthy embraces contact and rarely complains about the foul. Mel serves as a solid defender when faced with traditional posts on the block. She isn’t foul prone and communicates well with her teammates. McCarthy will be a player to keep an eye out for in New Hampshire this year.
