Expert Analysis
Tink Butler | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Reneyia is a physical guard that feeds off of contact. Paired with Osby they make the toughest duo in the conference. She plays under control and can play both guard positions. She has a nice shot and can make defenders pay from outside, but when she drives she is more dangerous because when she attacks hard defenders have to let her go or foul her.

Reneyia is a strong physical guard that is probably stronger than most any guard that she will face on the high school level. She uses her strength and body well to shield and protect the ball, she also can take smaller guards down low in the paint. With the perimeter firepower that the Stars have, they don’t need her outside shooting as much, which makes her more of a threat because you can’t stop everyone.

Reneyia played solid at the point guard spot show good strength and used her body well to protect the ball. The problem was that the Mustangs defense was all or the place and the Roadrunners didn’t have much movement on offence leaving her with limited options to help. She finished with five points and had to work hard for each one.

Reneyia is very proficient with her corner three. She has a physical frame and uses it well, she can power dribble keeping her body between the ball and the defender. She has command of the offense when on the ball and is a threat to score on the touch off the ball. She is good in transition.

-Pickering is a big guard that uses her frame well to create space on drives to the rim. Has a good change of pace tempo on her dribble that throws off her defender’s timing and creates gaps to shoot through to the basket. Knocked down her perimeter looks because she took the right shots.

Reneyia Pickering is a smart and skilled PG, and she played terrifically in Elizabeth Seton’s win over Bullis. She makes the right play often and is a good driver. She is a composed finisher around the rim and has a solid jump shot. The first thing I noticed watching her these past two days is that she usually plays at her own pace. Reneyia scored an efficient 12 points in this game, missing only one shot. She facilitated well and had 5 assists without a turnover.

Reneyia has so much talent around her that she can get overlooked. It’s crazy because she has her hand in every play that the Roadrunners have. She controls the pace at the point and feeds everyone. She scores from each level and looks like she may be the leader of the team. She is a physical guard with the size to defend four positions.

Another Elizabeth Seton guard on this team that can play either guard position is Reneiyah Pickering. She is super cerebral and usually makes the right play. She is efficient and a good scorer. She is more of a true PG than Regala, but again, she can play the 1 or 2.

had a very efficient day. Against Holy Child, Reneyia had an all-around solid game with 15 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. Reneyia led the team in scoring, only taking 7 shots. Then, against St. Andrews, she finished with 12 points and knocked down a 3. On the day, her total was 27 points on 13/20 shooting and 8/9 from the line. She was sneaky good and a huge reason Elizabeth Seton didn’t lose a game all weekend.
