and her CR – Washington team tonight when they face cross town-rival, CR Jefferson. Becker has put together a few impressive outings this Winter so far after returning from injury last season but the best is still yet to come. Offensively, she is lining up her teammates in successful positions, giving them easy opportunities off her assists. She is playing within her own ability, never trying to do too much and she is playing pretty solid defense on that side of things with her active hand-eye coordination. It’s going to be fun to see Becker compete at the next level following this Winter campaign but I’m sure that she is completely locked in on the hear-and-now moving into their contest tonight.

Sam Becker is a smooth operator with a number of tools on her belt. She looks comfortable scoring at every level in the offense — through contact at the rim, with finessed floaters, and contested jumpers behind the arc. The Drury commit uses a strong handle to play with an unflappable pace and methodically looks for open teammates in the offense. Her game-changing ability was highlighted last night through her touch passes and relentless rebounding. With teammate Sira Doumbia Sira Doumbia 6'3" | C Washington | 2027 State IA on fire, Becker floated in passes that only her teammate could catch, leading Becker to 4 assists for the game. Becker also rebounds really well for a guard and finished with 9 on the night, just missing double-double. She hit all six of her free throws as well — this veteran is a season-long game-changer for Washington.

is going to need to put together another big Winter ahead at CR – Washington High School. Becker, a 5’9 PG, recently committed to compete at D2 – Drury to follow this season but prior to that she is going to be looked upon to make some magic each evening with her high school squad. Last Winter she was consistently getting to line each contest. She finished off the year 87-106, averaging about five trips to the line every time she laced up her kicks. All in all, Becker is a pass-first PG that understands how to get her teammates open at an impressive rate. These attempts just show that once she starts assisting those others around her, defenses start to tighten up and they let her get all the way to the bucket for some type of attempt with contact. This Winter should be a good one for this group. If they play their game, they should win a few more games than last season.

Team Iowa 17U started off slowly on Saturday afternoon. Their source of energy and production offensively in the first half was PG – Samantha Becker. Becker was making crafty plays in almost every other situation to help her team take a lead within the first 20 minutes. She record multiple AND1 attempts in a row after attacking her defender, going down the left side of the lane for some off-hand finishes. From there she worked her game into assisting more and really getting after it on the defensive side of things. She ended with multiple steals, tips, and deflection, which ultimately gave her team more possessions in the grand scheme of things. Becker checks a lot of boxes that college recruiters have. She just needs to find the right fit and the rest will be history

AAU. Becker leads by example, she handles pace extremely well, and she can do everything asked of her by her coaches at the PG position. Over the years her steady progression has been a key into becoming the prospect she is today. This is someone that could lead a very skilled and talented team as a creator or she can step up and be that primarily weapon within her offense. It just depends what kind of group she is leading. On Friday night Becker helped her Washington team to another victory with a 25 point (11-18) display. This is one of her best games of the season to date and it was against a crosstown rival in CR – Kennedy, so I’m sure she is satisfied with the evening as a whole.

from when she was an 8th grader up until now, is nothing short of impressive. Becker is a coaches ideal PG. She can handle the workload of her team, she can control the entire game with the ball in her hands, and she understand what it means to lead everyone by example. Coming off of an injury from AAU season and Becker is already back to her normal self. If she happens to continue on this path and she works to pile on her days, she is going to be someone that recruiters from all around the Midwest, start to get ahold of as she gets into her last Spring/Summer in the AAU world.

Sam Becker is a long, smooth point guard with a high basketball IQ. From controlling the pace of the game to defending the opposition’s best player, Becker affected the game on both ends of the court. She played big minutes and led her Washington squad in rebounds, steals, and assists. She scored in an array of ways too, including creating for herself off the dribble, a cut-to-post finish, and a step back three off of a ball screen. I really enjoy watching Sam play and I believe she is a player to watch in the MVC.

Becker took major strides last Winter during her Sophomore season and she is looking to do even better over this next six months. The ability that Becker brings to the floor is elite control. She can control tempo, pace of play, and everything that is happening around her when she has the ball in her hands. She can also score it at a thorough rate if need be, when everything else breaks down around her. This team is going to have 2-3 high ranking players from their perspective age-group that will be looked upon along with Becker but in the end, it’ll be on her shoulders as their PG these next two years.

of CR – Washington High School is a prospect that is being slept on right now by recruiters from the next level but I think that is going to start to change this Winter. Becker is fantastic at the PG position, while being a crafty scorer and willing facilitator. This AAU season she was coming back from injury to end her year so that obviously didn’t help her case but if anyone were to sit down and watch her compete, they would understand that she can lead a skilled team by example with the ball in her possession a majority of the time. She really makes everyone better around her and that speaks volumes to who she is as a competitor.

of CR Washington. Becker is a 5’9 PG, that embodies what it means to be a leader. She is the player that everyone can trust in to run her teams offense without getting side tracked, while also having the ability to score at the drop of a hat if her team needs her to. Not to mention, she understands pace of play and what is the best route of attack against most defenders she matches up with on a daily basis. She can pass with the best of them and she doesn’t settle for bad shots. To be a great PG, you have to be able to check off a lot of different boxes to a collegiate recruiter and I think that Becker does just that. If she can stay on the path she is currently on, the sky is the limits. She may truly end as one of the best overall players out of this 2026 Class before everything is said and done. I’m excited to see how far she can take things this Spring with whoever she is lacing up for.
