Expert Analysis
Byron Xerxes Livsey | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
The potential is definitely there for Engler, and she’s already building off a strong foundation as a freshman. She has the length and frame to impact both ends, and today was a good glimpse of what she can bring offensively. She shows a natural feel as a playmaker and understands when to pick her spots, both with the ball and off it. Still room to grow, but the upside is clear.

Length and skill are a dangerous combination to have as a guard. Not many teams have 6-foot guards that can fill it up from beyond the arc, switch hands in the lane to finish off the dribble, create separation with a full bag of crossover combinations, and use every inch of the glass to score at the rim. Hadley looks like a big-time prospect to see on the court with M14 Hoops 15U at the Great Lakes Kickoff.

Engler’s calling card this year will be her defense, and with her length and athleticism, she might be asked to come in and guard some of the better players. As her offensive skill set grows and sharpens, she could be one of the main players who keep Benet competitive over the next couple of years.

Engler could be a key piece for Benet this upcoming season, and what she brings as a slasher can’t be overlooked. Besides being able to get to the rim and finish with and without contact, I think her athleticism will be another key reason why her upside is huge.

Engler played up this past live period weekend with the older group and held her own against a handful of older competition. Benet will be a young team this year, and even though they haven’t lost a ton to graduation, there will be room for some of the young players to help out. Engler will definitely be one of those young players that could scratch some minutes for them this year.
