Expert Analysis

My first time seeing Lauer play was a year ago at The Smoke, where she showed great potential, athleticism, length, instincts as a facilitator, and versatility as a guard-wing prospect. It’s been close to a year, and I can tell you right now she will be making the biggest jump of any 2028 in our next rankings update. Robust and strong build, long, athletic, endless energy, jumps out of the gym, handles the ball in the open court, scores through contact, persistent rebounder, she’s definitely in that top-tier category as a prospect. She got to the free throw line, knocked them down, controlled the offensive glass, finished powerfully off two feet using either hand, pushed the ball up the floor comfortably with pace, and deflected passes on the perimeter. With one second left in the Gold Championship Game, Lauer looked like she was jumping on a trampoline as she defended the baseline inbounds pass. She timed it up perfectly, batted the ball straight down, and secured the victory for Dream Loudly 16U EYCL Paiz. Lauer is an All-Tournament First Team selection, and she blew us away at the PGH MI College Tour II.

Lauer made a huge splash last summer, and she’s a prospect with a high ceiling I’m excited to see at the PGH MI College Tour. Lauer has length, athleticism, and versatility as a guard-wing that immediately screams next level. She can handle the ball in the open court, facilitate, slash to the basket with a burst, and finish in traffic. Lauer jumps out of the gym to secure rebounds, block shots, and disrupt passing lanes to create turnovers. She could be a breakout player on Saturday for Dream Loudly Basketball EYCL 16U Paiz

Lauer earned a ranking in our latest update, and she’s a prospect with the potential to continue moving up the list. Lauer’s length, mobility, and athleticism are qualities that highly recruited guards and wings have at the next level. She left a lasting impression at The Smoke with Macon Academy. Lauer facilitates, high-points rebounds, attacks off the dribble, wreaks havoc on defense, and finishes around the basket. She has a very high ceiling and will be a must-watch prospect at St. Joseph this winter.

Lauer was an athletic wing prospect who immediately grabbed my attention at The Smoke with Macon 6 Basketball Academy 2028. She leaped up to corral an offensive board, spun, and finished the layup with a soft touch off the glass. Lauer pushed the ball briskly with both hands in transition and dished assists to teammates. She fired skip passes over defenders and used her long arms to create steals on defense. Lauer landed with a controlled jumper stop and jumped off two feet to score another layup. She has athleticism, quickness, height, and confidence with the ball that will give her a very high ceiling.
