Jayna’s assertive downhill drives, physicality, rebounding, and all-around impact took over games at the PGH MI College Tour II. She drained a triple in the corner, climbed the ladder to deflect a pass on the perimeter for a steal, and crashed the glass to score an offensive rebound off two feet with her left. Jayna penetrated gaps from the perimeter, scoring layups and floaters with a soft touch inside. She threw passes on a rope to open teammates and helped Dream Loudly EYCL 16U Paiz win the Gold Championship. Jayna received recognition as All-Tournament First Team.

Jayna turned in another All-Conference campaign for Shelby during her sophomore campaign. She averaged an eye-popping 19.3 points, 13.8 rebounds, 3.3 steals, and 2.2 assists per game. Jayna has physical strength and toughness that you don’t see often at the guard position. She’s a bulldog on both ends of the court and a fierce rebounder. Her versatility as a slasher and perimeter scorer makes Jayna an extremely challenging matchup.

Jayna was an MVP at the Freshman Showcase, and she had another strong showing this year with Team 8 at the PGH Expo. Jayna’s high motor, solid physical build, and determination made her nearly unstoppable when driving to the basket. Jayna takes the ball to the rim like a running back accelerating through a gap, and she earned many trips to the free-throw line. Jayna drained a deep wing three, deflected passes with active hands, and converted shots from the charity stripe. She sprinted in to secure an offensive rebound and finished with a strong and-one off two feet. Jayna used a swift spin move to avoid a defender and finished another and-one off two feet. She earned recognition as a Top Performer.

Jayna’s physical strength, relentless motor, and total impact at Oakland Elite Camp were reminiscent of her All-Showcase MVP performance at the Freshman Showcase last year. Jayna was an offensive rebounding machine, muscling her way to the ball and finishing strong put-backs off two feet. She used a quick crossover to drive by for a bucket, sized up her defender off the catch, and blew by for another explosive layup. Jayna showed her outside range with a smooth three in the slot and separated herself at camp.

Jayna brought the same determination and tenacity attacking the basket she showed at the Freshman Showcase to the Michigan Dearborn prospect camp. She pushed the ball quickly coast to coast then crossed over a defender to score a layup off two. Jayna outworked defenders to score an offensive rebound put back off two feet and attacked hard downhill to score two more layups. Jayna scored another full-court layup and she was a force defenders did not want to step in front of on Sunday.

Jayna aggressively attacks downhill off the dribble and finishes through contact at the rim. Her toughness and physical style will be fun to watch at Shelby this winter.
