As we enter the 2019/2020 high school basketball season in Kansas. Prep Hoops will preview some of the Kansas City Area high schools. These preview articles will give you details on key players, season expectations and more.
In this article we preview the Blue Valley Southwest Lady Wolves. Coming off of a 18-7 record and class 5A state final appearance a year ago. Southwest looks to reload on 2019-20.

<span style="font-family: impact, sans-serif">Maddie Garreston, Forward, Senior, (2020)</span>
Garretson, a 5'11 versatile player who can post, put it on the floor, as well as shoot it from distance. A good rebounder and finisher in close. One of a few returning seniors from a year ago and a leader on this younger Wolves team, look for her to help as they try to contend in the EKL.

The 5'8 lefty is returning back for her sophomore season looking to highlight leadership skills by playing the point guard position for Southwest. Abby has great court vision and displays good ball skills which allows her to create for herself and others. A superior shooter with limitless range look for Augustine to help lead the charge for the Lady Wolves.

An athletic slasher, Simmons is a returning starter from last years group. Exhibits <span style="font-size: 1rem">speed and willingness to get to the basket </span><span style="font-size: 1rem">the as well as knock down the mid-range. Shoots passing lanes on defense for easy layups and a pest on the ball for opposing teams. </span>
Other key returners that should help the Wolves are <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/sydney-beck/">Sydney Beck</a>, Jaylie Hicklin and Jasarra Gantt.
