Any of these three players could potentially end up in the top spot before 2025 comes along and judging by my DM’s, a lot of people think they should be there now. Unfortunately, these kinds of decisions have to be made and like I told one person who wrote in, the good news is that all of these young ladies will be playing college basketball – that is the point, after all.
No. 4 – Marcayla Johnson Marcayla Johnson 6'0" | CG Booker T. Washington | 2025 State OK | 6-0 CG | Booker T. Washington | @MarcaylaJohnso1
Just to prove my point about the level of player at the top of this list, Marcayla is LOADED with D-I offers – hometown team Tulsa, Big Ten power Penn State, she has visited Baylor. Like I said, LOADED. So why are so many great basketball schools interested? Well, she is a six foot tall guard, for one. Secondly, she is just a ridiculously good basketball player. She goes HARD to the rim and her ability to finish with either hand is rarely seen at this level of basketball. She can step out and shoot or draw the defense toward her and make the pass. She is a nightmare defensively as most guards just aren’t equipped to handle a six footer who can move like she does. She rebounds very well and I can see her racking up the triple-doubles in high school with her myriad abilities on the court. Marcayla is fun to watch and I (and every coach in the country) will definitely be keeping an eye on her BTW squad!
No. 5 – Janiyah Williams Janiyah Williams 5'9" | PG Edmond Memorial | 2025 State OK | 5-8 CG | Stillwater | @janiyahwill_9
Speaking of big offers – I know I sound like a broken record – but, Janiyah has a LOT of big time D-I offers. It just goes to show how absolutely loaded this once in a generation class of players in Oklahoma really is. Williams already has nine offers and a rumored five more coming in very soon. So, the question is why? Why are so many great basketball schools interested? Well, it’s easy really. Another guard with great size who has silky smooth handles and a very, very high basketball IQ. She can hit from anywhere, which seems to be the key for all of these top guards, but the difference between the top-6 or even top-10 players on the list is their ability to do everything else. She defends with tenacity. Sees the open man and hits them with a purposeful speed on her passes. Really, everything a coach could ask of a player. Maybe that’s why seemingly every coach in America has their eye on her.
No. 6 – Sania Richardson Sania Richardson 5'5" | PG Grind Prep | 2025 State OK | 5-5 PG | Ada | @no_limit_sania
Sania is probably the most fun player to watch out of the entire 2025 list on a game to game basis. Her games at any tournament or showcase are almost “must see” viewing. She is a ridiculously good ball handler. Small and quick, she weaves in and out of the opposing defense and ALWAYS seems to make the right pass or take the shot. It will be fun to see Sania play with Ada this season and see how she plays with her school teammates. If she continues to make everyone around her better like she does on her grassroots squad, Ada could go a long way. On a court full of absolute stars at the Super-16 this year, Sania was the MVP and had the crowd ’oohing’ and ’aahing’ with her every twist and turn into the lane. She finishes strong. Hits her stop and pop shots. She defends with a ferociousness and hunger. Honestly, there is no reason that Sania couldn’t be number one on this list when all is said and done. What an absolutely loaded class and what an absolutely amazing player!
