Playing out of State
Jordan Mintz Jordan Mintz 5'3" | PG Gray Collegiate | 2024 State SC attends Gray Collegiate after starting her career at Westwood HS. Mintz a point guard was here today running with EA Lady Stars 2024. Mintz and her teammates struggled a bit today in the game we were able to watch.
Surprise Showing
Parah Anderson Parah Anderson 5'7" | SG Manning | 2024 State SC came off the bench for the Sumter Elite 2024 and really knocked down some shots. Anderson who attends Manning HS really does a good job of sealing out and rebounding the ball on both ends of the floor. Parah felt very comfortable from playing out to 17-19 feet while knocking down shots. Parah also golfs every spring for the Lady Monarchs.
Who Was Not in Attendance Today?
Unfortunately, today a few Palmetto State Players were not in attendance. Both players were competing in the Track and Field Lower State and Upper State. Lindsay Garner Lindsay Garner 6'2" | C Lexington | 2023 State SC (2023) runs with ABC Lightning on the Grassroots and attends Lexington HS. Garner just like Mintz plays with a North Carolina based team mostly consisting of players from the Raleigh area.
Teonna Draughn Teonna Draughn 5'5" | PG Cardinal Newman | 2026 State SC (2026) from Hemingway HS was not here on Saturday. Draughn played the night before Upward Stars Pee Dee 2026 squad. Teonna is regarded one of the best players in the 2026 Class. Prep Girls Hoops hasn’t put out rankings yet for this list but does have a good list of names already compiled. Teonna can really score the ball at times and really plays the game at a good pace. She has played on varsity for the past two seasons for the Lady Tigers starting as a 7th grader.
Reagan Haggard Reagan Haggard 6'0" | CG Chapin | 2026 State SC (2026) was not here today as she was playing in the state playoffs for softball. Reagan attends Chapin HS in the Upstate. Haggard runs with South Carolina Future 2026.
The Class of 2026 – Already?
Javiah Martin Javiah Martin 5'5" | SG Crestwood | 2026 State SC sure likes to let it fly when she touches it. Martin a left-handed guard played this past season on varsity at Crestwood HS (Dalzell). Jailyn Williams Jailyn Williams 5'10" | PF Sumter | 2026 State SC plays at county rival Sumter HS. Martin attends Hillcrest M.S. while Williams attends Bates M.S. in Sumter.
Natalia Madison Natalia Madison 5'8" | SF Goose Creek | 2026 State SC really played aggressive today in the paint for her Palmetto Stampede 2026 squad. Madison plays down in the paint at Goose Creek HS. Natalia saw plenty of minutes this past season for the Lady Gators.
Jaida McClure Jaida McClure 5'9" | PG Providence Day | 2026 State NC plays across the border in the Queen City at Providence Day. McClure plays the game so smooth for her age and really can pick a part of defense at times with her passing skills. Jaida is currently running with FBC Queen City Ballers 15U on the Grassroots Circuit.
The Class of 2027 – Already?
Prep Girls Hoops already mentioned a few players in a previous article from here. Remember these names coming down the line. Post player Zaria Thompson Zaria Thompson 6'3" | C Cardinal Newman | 2027 State SC , Anna Kate Moore Anna Kate Moore 5'10" | SF Ben Lippen | 2027 SC , Dominique Briggs Dominique Briggs 5'11" | SF Spring Valley | 2027 SC and Jaliaya Jacobs Jaliaya Jacobs 5'5" | CG Goose Creek | 2027 State SC . Thompson just 13 years old is a home-schooled student who could be landing somewhere this fall to play. Zaria already has good size and really likes to play the game on contact and doesn’t mind getting physical down in the paint.
Moore attends Ben Lippen and seems to be most effective playing out on the wing. Anna Kate was able to block a handful of shots today. Moore is still a RAW talent and still learning the game. Briggs is a very unique player with her soft hands and touch. Dominique really likes to play face-up to the basket and especially from the elbow in.
Jacobs was constantly creating havoc around the ball today for the Palmetto Stampede 2026. Jaliaya attends Sedgefield M.S. (Goose Creek). She has a nice quick shot release and looks to be a future Goose Creek Lady Gator down the road.
