Due to last year being my first year I had to focus so much on the Juniors and Seniors around the Commonwealth that our Coaching Subscribers needed to read about. Most of the Freshmen I saw play were the beneficiary of there being solid older players on their teams or the teams they were playing against. Because of this, there are probably 30 to 60 players across the state that should be in these rankings but aren’t.
Keep working ladies. We will get to you.
Juliana Frazee Juliana Frazee 6'1" | C Franklin County | 2025 State KY – 6’1″ Franklin County Richmond Heat
Frazee’s excellent conditioning confounded opposing coaches all summer long with the Richmond Heat by seemingly never getting tired while putting out amazing effort on both ends of the court. Several coaches I spoke to said they were impressed with her stamina because most players with her size will get tired and then become ineffective. But despite all efforts, opponents could not run her out of the game by playing up-tempo and they really wanted her to go to the bench because she was killing it on the floor. She was very active as a rim runner, rim protector, post scorer, and defender.
After a High School season playing with a loaded Front Court, I had not seen Frazee play for very many extended minutes. So it was very impressive to see her playing among players her own age and as the featured Post Presence on the court. She is already beyond the basics of playing Interior Basketball and using her size to impact the game.
Frazee has the kind of physical strength to be a dominant player in high school and on the next Kenadi Level Kenadi Level 5'1" | PG McLean County | 2026 KY but might be a bit too short for the Major D1 programs. Maybe she will grow but I am sure the Mid-Major and D2 Coaches will be hoping she doesn’t. She needs to be on the radar of every Coach in the country because she is just going to keep getting better if she keeps working. She is going to continue to get good training from the Coaches she sees that I know about and I wouldn’t be surprised to find out she is getting additional training I don’t know about.
Marissa Green Marissa Green 6'3" | C Highlands | 2025 State KY – 6’3″ Highlands Next Kenadi Level Kenadi Level 5'1" | PG McLean County | 2026 KY
I didn’t get to see Green play as much as I would have liked this summer or last season in part due to my inexperience with the AAU Circuit. I didn’t know Next Kenadi Level Kenadi Level 5'1" | PG McLean County | 2026 KY was loaded with kids from Kentucky that I should have been trying to cover until it was too late to see most of them. I’ll do better in the future now that I know.
Green is long and mobile, some might call her rangey, which our site dictionary does not recognize as a word that means 1) able to travel a considerable distance, 2a) long-limbed and long-bodied, 2b) long and slender. I had to fight the AI just to get that word into the article.
She is a very skilled player that is developing nicely. Has good passing skills and good coordination in receiving the pass in transition and being able to do something with it without traveling. She is an excellent shot blocker and defensive rebounder making her the top rim protector in this class.
Green is going to be a force in the 9th Region for the next three years and is the type of player you can build a powerhouse around. I don’t know nearly as much about her as I would like to but I look forward to learning as much as possible before she moves on to the next Kenadi Level Kenadi Level 5'1" | PG McLean County | 2026 KY beyond Highlands and Next Kenadi Level Kenadi Level 5'1" | PG McLean County | 2026 KY .
Sophia Gibson Sophia Gibson 6'4" | C Notre Dame Academy | 2025 State KY – 6’3″ Notre Dame WV Thunder
Gibson is poised to have a breakout season playing for a team that lost SEVEN Seniors from last season’s 4-loss team (Sacred Heart twice, Bullitt East & Ryle). I told a teammate of hers a few months ago that even if those seven players were the worst players on the team that was a lot. But having played on a team that lost six key Seniors during my Junior year and then went on to have a great Senior year there is still hope.
And Gibson is a big part of that hope. Not every High School team has a legitimate Center and even fewer have one as long and skilled as Gibson. A brief perusal of the stats doesn’t suggest much but surrounded by so many talented upper-classmen there was no need to do more than hold her own which she did in spades. Her ability to block and alter shots is a huge asset to build a defense around and her ability to pass and rebound will be a huge asset in establishing an inside-outside game that will keep defenses honest instead of sagging into the post to focus all their energy on her.
Corinne Trammell Corinne Trammell 5'11" | C McCreary Central | 2025 State KY – 6’0″ McCreary Central
I have not seen Trammel play, but I certainly intend to. She led her team in Rebounds and Field Goal percentage last season as a Freshman. She averaged 7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game shot 44.2% from the floor and made 13 of 22 three-point attempts for 40.6% shooting. Those stats speak volumes coming from a player on a very young team playing in a Region with several talented bigs to match up against.
Addison Kincaid Addison Kincaid 6'3" | C Sacred Heart Academy | 2025 State KY – 6’0″ Christian Academy-Louisville
Kincaid runs the floor with good speed and gets good elevation going after rebounds. This is an athlete on a loaded team that currently contributes more as a defensive stopper away from the basket from what I have seen. But she is also very effective in blocking and altering shots in the lane both on-ball and as an eraser from off the ball.
Offensively, she makes a good quick move over either shoulder and should probably receive and score on more looks this season. The quickness she moves with when posting up could make her a major contributor this season for what will surely be the 2A Champions for the 4th year in a row with their eyes on the Sweet 16.
