Camri Hobbs Camri Hobbs 6’0″ | PG Jay M. Robinson | 2026 State NC is the younger sister of Ella Hobbs Ella Hobbs 6’4″ | SF Jay M. Robinson | 2024 State NC , but she definitely plays a very different position. Even with the younger sister’s height, she is a top point guard in the state being able to handle the ball well against any kind of pressure. Her calm composure no matter what kind of pressure is coming her way makes her effective at getting a play going finding the openings and understanding how a play is supposed to develop. She is patient waiting for lanes to open up before taking full advantage getting to the hoop.
When you think about the top shooters in the state, Jaida McClure Jaida McClure 5’9″ | PG Providence Day | 2026 State NC has to be one that immediately comes to mind. For years (and yes, she is just a freshman), she’s been competing against high level athletes knocking down shots from all over the court. When I say all over the court, I seriously mean from anywhere no matter the distance. She has a way of getting by her opponents, too, that allows her to drive hard to the basket showing off a nice soft finish at the rim. Her IQ is on display on the defensive side of the ball as well knowing what moves her opponents will make seemingly before they even decide what to do.
Gabrielle Troy-Mebane Gabrielle Troy-Mebane 5’7″ | CG Link Academy | 2026 MO already has a swag about her on the court as if she’s been playing high school ball for years. She came out hot in June with her first high school action knowing how to shoot the ball well over her opponents. She drove hard downhill, and she dishes smart passes to her teammates making sure she is finding the best ways for her team to score. Her fakes are well executed using her facial expressions and body language to sell it as she drives around her defender.
Lacie Grovner Lacie Grovner 5’8″ | CG North Meck | 2026 NC seems to already understand the importance of letting things play out and being patient as you shift the defense. She sees an opening and explodes to the area whether she is running looking for the pass and shot or she’s driving hard to the basket finishing through contact. She is a pesky defender, too, grabbing steals and knocking the ball away from her opponents when going one on one.
Miley Malcolm Miley Malcolm 6’0″ | SG Porter Ridge | 2026 State NC already has some good height on her which makes you think she may be playing inside, but she shows off many guard skills including shooting around the perimeter strengthening her resume even more. She does well moving without the ball to get open to show off her shot, or she can handle the ball getting a play going and knowing how to incorporate her teammates into the offensive side of the ball.
