Today, we’re talking about players who displayed some game-changing ability. Anyone can tell when a kid can score 30 on any night, but I like highlighting the kids who do the little things that alter a game. So, we’re highlighting those kinds of kids from the Top 250 event at Kingdom Hoops today.
Kennedy Goodheart
The 5-foot-9 2026 guard showed every aspect of her game on Saturday. She pressured the ball the second it crossed half court, and her effort paid dividends on multiple occasions. Goodheart created a few live-ball turnovers that led to her having one-on-one or one-on-zero transition opportunities. The wing doesn’t need to score 20 points to help her team win. She makes winning plays every trip down the floor.
Macy Comito
The 5-8 2026 guard is the kind of wing I enjoy watching. Comito can do a bit of everything when she’s on the floor. Her versatility will help her get on the floor early once the school season starts. I saw her play a few times over the summer for All Iowa Attack , and although she didn’t break games open with her shooting, that is most certainly something she’s capable of at this level. I vividly remember seeing her play at Summer Jam against a talented Minnesota Fury team, and I thought her shooting made the difference that morning. She’ll be effective right away at Carlisle.
Taylor Franck
The 2026 guard was one of the scrappiest players at the event. Franck always seemed to be diving for a loose ball, trying to save a ball from going out of bounds, or creating extra possessions wherever she possibly could. Franck is the player who can play 30 minutes in a game and not score a point but be the reason her team wins games. Although she’s not the biggest, she could create the most extra possessions for her team on any night.
Elizabeth Puot Elizabeth Puot 6'0" | SF Des Moines North | 2023 State IA
The Des Moines North product was one of the most intriguing athletes at the event. Puot was the best rim defender at the event, and it wasn’t close. She blocked and altered countless shots in the paint and gave her team an advantage whenever she was on the court. I also think her shot is a threat to defenses. Even though she didn’t make many when I was watching, defenders react to it, and that’s all it has to do. She’s someone I’ll be keeping tabs on in her senior season.
