Wallace saw the floor well defensively a week ago. She was an athletic defender that could turn defense into offense. I saw Wallace get a steal and turn it into a mid range jumper on the other end.
Farr was always looking to make a play and steal a possession. She picked up at halfcourt and snagged a steal when I was watching her team.
Highlights
Crombie can be such a tough opponent in so many ways for coaches. Her versatility and intelligence really puts her D at a top notch level. Crombie jumped the passing lanes when she had a quickness advantage and picked up steals in that fashion.
Cleveland had the look of a defensive playmaker at the Top 250. She saw the ball really well and was able to make a move on it and pick up a steal. Cleveland got the ball and immediately put it where it needed to go so her team could turn it into points.
Brown was able to pick up at least 1 steal just by putting so much pressure on the opposing ball handler. She was able to force quick decisions and quality ball handling at all times.
Bolton pulled the snatch n’ grab on her opponent simply by beating her to the spot and putting them in a bad position. She forced the turnover, pushed to the other end with the dribble and converted for a bucket.
Sometimes it seemed like Washington had stolen the ball before the other team even knew what was happening. She may have actually led the Top 250 in steals. Washington defending the perimeter this season will certainly play a role in West Bloomfield’s attempt to defend their state title.
Yeah, here’s Ashbaugh’s name again. She had one of the best overall days at the Top 250. I saw her physically snag a ball away from the offense and go coast to coast for an easy bucket.
