Kings Fork HS

Class 4 state champs will no doubt be the favorite to repeat this season! Led by [player_tooltip player_id='254967' first='Cyriah' last='Griffin'] who took over the championship game last season to bring home the title! With two division one committed starters [player_tooltip player_id='387927' first='Arlisha' last='Boston'] signed to go to Hampton University and [player_tooltip player_id='188319' first='Niyah' last='Gaston'] headed to Coppin State I won't be surprised if they get off to a fast start to the season. Also, it's no secret of the biggest addition to this squad ESPN watchlist in the 2026 class [player_tooltip player_id='376323' first='Zaniyah' last='Williams'] will probably make this team unbeatable!

S3 Academy

S3 has been busy this offseason and loaded up for the national schedule they will face this year! With a returning starter, [player_tooltip player_id='443616' first='Melissa' last='Mwanza'] headed to the University of Richmond they have expanded their roster. Key additions Sydney Turner and [player_tooltip player_id='300383' first='Comari' last='Mitchell'] has made the jump from public school to private school to take a step up in competition. Also, be on the lookout for just recently committed 6'4 [player_tooltip player_id='509489' first='Yacine' last='Ndiaye'] and 5'11 wing [player_tooltip player_id='551067' first='Sira' last='Thienou'] who is athletic and can get to the basket and arguably may be the best player on the team!

TPLS Christian Academy

Losing five scholarship players to college from last year's team TPLS will have to rebuild and reload! Returning two players from lasts year team [player_tooltip player_id='555427' first='Anaya' last='Lilly'], who lead the team with three pointers made and [player_tooltip player_id='307658' first='Delaney' last='Snyder'] 6'5 Memphis commit brings veteran leadership. Key additions [player_tooltip player_id='500676' first='Kendall' last='Scott'] who is off to a fast start and leads the team in scoring. [player_tooltip player_id='383625' first='VaNyah' last='Otey'] 5'10 wing freshman brings great size on the perimeter that can shoot the three. Another intriguing prospect making a position change from power forward to wing 6'0 [player_tooltip player_id='510014' first='Kiyah' last='Lewis'] has shown great potential and development in her transition to the wing!

Bishop Ireton HS

Competing in the WCAC is a good top heavy team! They took a big blow this summer losing 6'1 athletic power forward [player_tooltip player_id='312087' first='Desirae' last='Ashton'] who holds multiple division one offers to a ACL injury but will be back ready for AAU season! They still have a lot of fire power including [player_tooltip player_id='302530' first='Nyla' last='Brooks'] committed to University of Tennessee. [player_tooltip player_id='471796' first='Saniyah' last='King'] who is a really good combo guard that will help with the scoring load this season. Expect a big year for [player_tooltip player_id='239417' first='Amirah' last='Anderson'] 5'10 wing who will be playing for Team Takeover next summer is a versatile player that can score multiple ways!

James River HS

We will see if James River will have enough fire power to make a state run! [player_tooltip player_id='239496' first='Lanie' last='Grant'] ranked as a top 20 player in the country in ESPN will receive every teams attention this season. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='255938' first='Arshae' last='Jackson'] who is a two time all-state player will be the 1-2 punch that may have to carry this team. The key addition of [player_tooltip player_id='376359' first='Sanai' last='Massenburg'] 5'10 W/PF will add scoring and defensive and overall depth. But to make a deep push in states the role players will have to be consistent so look out for Katrina Scholtz and [player_tooltip player_id='387406' first='Ava' last='King'] will have to step up and may have to hit some big shots this season!

Thomas Dale HS

Arguably one of the deepest teams in the state! Led by new head coach Pamela Walker has an embarrassment of riches starting with [player_tooltip player_id='300374' first='Nylah' last='Wilson'] that has elite athleticism and multiple Division I offers. [player_tooltip player_id='302380' first='Tamaya' last='Webb'] who is a skilled power forward that can play back to the basket or shoot the midrange jump shot. Returning this season shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='302379' first='Elayna' last='Givens'] who missed last season with a torn ACL is back on a team that made it to the semifinals game a years ago! Another key edition will be the electric 5'6 point guard [player_tooltip player_id='376328' first='Syvannah' last='Dawson'] who got her first offer as an eighth grader will make this team tough to beat this coming basketball season!

John Marshall HS

This may be the best shot that “JM” has to win a Class 2 title! [player_tooltip player_id='254951' first='Jaedyn' last='Cook'] the East Carolina commit will have to carry this team and will put up numbers to give player of the year considerations! [player_tooltip player_id='747636' first='Janiyaha' last='Pickett'] is a legit option at the point guard position on both offense and defense ends of the floor! The addition of two key players will make this team a legitimate state threat. 6'1 [player_tooltip player_id='300386' first='Rmia' last='Crutchfield'] will give “JM” great front court size on the high school level! 5'9 Logan Rose just recently transferred with be a jack of all trades and can play three positions and consistently knock down the three point shot!
