WCAC's Bishop Ireton and Paul VI Reunite in VISAA State Final

WCAC programs Bishop Ireton and Paul VI met again on the VISAA Division I Championship stage, where individual matchups and timely execution shaped the outcome. With the teams separated by one point at halftime and again entering the fourth quarter, the game demanded poise from primary scorers, facilitators, and interior contributors alike. Every scoring run was answered on the other end, as players on both teams responded confidently in key moments. Bishop Ireton secured the 53-48 victory in its 3rd straight state title, while Paul VI continued to apply pressure late in a final defined by impactful individual efforts across the two lineups.   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Bishop Ireton</h2>    McEldon impacted the game with size, rebounding, and timely perimeter shooting. She secured tough offensive boards, knocked down a mid-range jumper from the elbow, and later connected from 3 to enhance the lead. Her physical presence on the glass created second-chance opportunities in critical moments. McEldon's late offensive rebound and finish helped solidify Ireton's advantage down the stretch.     Ferguson's composure and playmaking set the tone for Ireton. She followed her shot for early points, facilitated effectively in halfcourt sets, and delivered key assists in transition. Her wing 3 and defensive pressure helped boost the lead, and she played a role in late-game traps that forced clock management situations. Ferguson's leadership at the point was evident in high-pressure moments.     Harris delivered timely shot-making and confident drives throughout the game. She knocked down multiple 3's to regain control and attacked the rim with strong footwork to finish in traffic. Her transition awareness and ability to facilitate added another layer to Ireton's offense. Harris' late layup gave Ireton a critical advantage in the final minutes.     Davis provided energy and production, especially in the second quarter. She converted at the line, ran the floor effectively, and capitalized on transition plays to help Ireton stay ahead. Her rebounding presence allowed her to initiate offense herself, giving Paul VI valuable extra possessions. Janapati's hustle plays and defensive positioning provided balance on both ends.     Muldoon controlled pace with patience and composure, protecting her dribble while surveying the floor. She attacked gaps decisively, finishing through traffic in transition and earning key free-throw opportunities late. Her ability to rebound and immediately push the ball added a spark to Paul VI's offense.
