How do you go from losing two All-Americans to graduation in two years, losing two division on starters to transfer and end your season as the number one team in the nation while playing it the toughest conference in the nation? It starts of with coaching and bringing in a high level staff that can build players up and foster a culture that becomes more than a team but a family. Players that have each other back and care more about each other than themselves. Bishop McNamara defeated Bishop Ireton for the WCAC Championship and never trailed in the game. These two were the preseason picks to get to the finals, however, no one outside of the people on 6800 Marlboro Pike thought that this team would repeat their incredible 2025 run, surely no one thought that this team would be better than the previous juggernaut with all of the losses they had to overcome. The top ranked sophomore in Maryland has elevated her game all season. She is on an all American trek with no signs of slowing down.

Mackenzi rolled in to the putting in good numbers and solid showings in each game we viewed, which is why her All-WCAC honorable mention is a head scratcher. That aside she led Ireton in their championship game with 15 points all in the second half. She is solid all around and is a key reason for Ireton's success this season. Bishop Ireton returns everyone next season, unfortunately Bishop McNamara returns it's core. They should be leaning on Mackenzi more if they want to take the next step to a title.

Qandace could probably skip her senior season and start for a power 5 college team next year. Thankfully, we get to enjoy another season of stellar play. She scored 30 points in the semi final game which has been a common area for her. Her long distance shooting can change the outcome of any game and lately opponents have to be concerned with her mid range game. Defensively she is very smart and calculating, she can anticipate where the ball is heading and meet it creating points of turnovers. She gives up her body on drives getting her to the line where she converts at a high percentage. She should be the frontrunner for the WCAC Player of the Year award next season.

Geornae has transitioned nicely from post player to perimeter player. She is attacking the rim and pulling up from the wing and is one of the conferences top rebounders. She has shown the ability to shoot from beyond the arc and I can see her turning it into a weapon over the summer. She still has the strength and skill to work with her back to the basket giving her versatility. She seems to be improving constantly and I excited to see what is in store for her future.

Every team on every level needs a dependable point guard and Nyair is one that will be sought after on every level.
