In fact, 10 different point guards found themselves ranked in the top 50 as far as the overall 2025 rankings are concerned. This class is extremely talented and should be making big waves on the court this year. Let’s take a look at some of the top 2025 point guards in Kentucky.
Waller is the definition of a floor general, but as an added bonus, she is an excellent scorer as well. She is so efficient and brings so much to the court. Her collective numbers were some of the best we saw last year in the state (15.8 PPG on 51.9% shooting overall and 40.5% from 3, as well as leading the state in FT percentage at 90.2%). However, she can create for her teammates just as well as she can create for herself. Waller has great ball handling skills and she’s a really smart player. She hasn’t played in the Marshalls first 2 games of the season, but expect a big sophomore season from Skylar Waller Skylar Waller 5’7″ | PG Marshall County | 2025 State KY .
Highlights
Murphy just has a natural swagger to her game that automatically makes her stand out whenever you watch her play. She can make some really impressive moves with the ball in her hands and she’s a great playmaker. Murphy can get to the basket or score from deep. If you don’t pick her up in transition, you’re in trouble. She can apply a ton of pressure defensively as well. Even with her solid numbers from last season, she was still getting adjusted to high school basketball in a new state, so expect to see even more of Murphy this season as she’s demonstrated in Mercy’s first 3 games already this season.
Glisson is one of our new additions to this rankings update, but she was definitely just one we had missed in the past. Her court vision will immediately stand out when you watch her play. She throws crisp passes and she leads her teammates to the rim. Glisson is shifty with the ball and she utilizes fakes really well. She can get defenders off of their feet and then she can score or distribute. She works hard and she has great hands defensively. Glisson has great form on her shot and she can shoot from deep range. She’s averaging 18.7 PPG and 5.3 RPG throughout Graves County’s 1st 3 games.
Sword is one of the most smooth, hidden gems in the 2025 class. She is loaded with potential and she has been opening a lot of eyes in the Maroons first 4 games of the season. While she’s averaging double figures at 10.2 PPG, she’s also had multiple assists and steals in all 4 games. She passes up good shots herself to create even better opportunities for her teammates, and she does it so well. Sword is a crafty player that can really do a little bit of everything on the court. She is a phenomenal 3-point shooter with deep range, she can handle the ball and pressure well, and she is a really smart defender. Watch out for Sword this year and for years to come.
Campbell could probably be averaging 20+ PPG if she was a selfish player, but she’s the furthest thing from it. Everything she does is solid. Her passes and court vision are next level, her ball handling skills are strong, she has an ability to score at all 3 levels, and she really works when she’s on the floor. Campbell can be like the glue to any team because of her talent and IQ. If she’s not scoring herself, she’s usually involved in the play in some other way. She continues to raise her averages despite playing like a true floor general. It always seems like what matters most to Campbell is putting her team in a position to win games, a characteristic you would want from your PG, and she does that so well. In fact, her Madison Central squad is off to a 3-0 start on the season.

Crowe is one of the best defenders and rebounders on this list. Despite being one of Bardstown’s primary ball handlers, she is actually leading them in rebounds throughout their 1st 4 games at 8.2 RPG. I don’t have the stats for steals, but I’d imagine she’s up at the top in that category as well, so she clearly doesn’t just bring an offensive presence to the floor. Crowe is really quick and she uses her length well. Offensively, she’s a good passer and she can create. She also does a great job of getting to the rim and drawing fouls. If she can get her free throw percentage up, I can see Crowe averaging a double-double by the end of this season.
Carter is a high IQ player that consistently gives 110% effort. She is a great defender both on and off of the ball. She can get out into the passing lanes defensively to come up with steals and she applies a ton of pressure on the ball as well. She’s another player that is constantly getting her teammates the ball and making plays for them. Carter is a good ball handler and she can really make a big impact on both sides of the ball. She’s in a new uniform this year and she’s already helped lead the Indians to a 3-0 start.
