She was a major impact in every game and made a concrete statement at the Tournament of Champions. Stewart can shoot off the dribble, create a shot off a quick move as well as finish at the rim with ease. She was an offensive nightmare for her opponents – averaging 19 points per contest (18 points in game one, 19 points in game two and 20 points in the championship game). Maddi can do it all; she wasn’t just standing around waiting to shoot – she constantly did the little things throughout each game that benefited her team. Stewart is just now scratching at her potential and if she can showcase all of this talent as a freshman, it is only a matter of time before Maddi becomes a household name in Oklahoma.
Kate Wernli Kate Wernli 5'9" | SG Bixby | 2026 State OK 2026 – Bixby: Kate is a player who dominates in the paint. She attacks the basket with force and does not shy away from contact. She is controlled when making her moves down low and she is aggressive when grabbing boards. Wernli is confident in her skills and knows the weaknesses of the defense; she is knowledgeable and aware so Wernli is able to distinguish when to take it to the rim and when to shoot. Kate is an impressive ball player and it will be exciting to see her growth in the years to come. Bixby is graduating 6 seniors this year so Kate’s role on the team will look a lot different next season and I anticipate that Wernli will be making a lot of noise in the near future.
Riki Mcquarters Riki Mcquarters 5'5" | CG Sapulpa | 2026 State OK 2026 – Sapulpa: Riki is the “x-factor” for the Sapulpa Lady Chieftains. She plays defense with a sense of pride and has a non stop motor when playing the game. Riki’s dedication to the defensive side of basketball is unmatched. She is mobile, quick and when Coach Calip tells her to “turn her”, Riki turns her and then forces the ball handler to lose the ball. She is exceptionally athletic and knows how to dominate on both ends of the floor. In the 3rd quarter of game 3, Riki not only locked up everyone she guarded – she scored 11 of her 16 points off of fast breaks; it is almost impossible to catch up with her when she is sprinting down the floor. Riki’s potential is limitless and if this is just the beginning – we are all in for a treat in the coming years!
