There were multiple intriguing matchups which included one from Calvert County’s Huntingtown High School against Hartford County’s Fallston High School. Here are some of the standouts from that match.
Maddie Burns
Maddie Burns
Maddie showed good defense in the passing lanes stealing and deflecting balls. She was a good in transition finishing when being harrassed. She made three back to back plays that prevented Huntington from getting across half court and forcing a time out.
Tyler Johnson
Tyler Johnson
Tyler has intimidating size with a college body. Her presence had Fallston thinking twice about driving inside. She actively looked to block shots but fouls started to become an issue for her. She has the foundation in place to be a solid interior player at the next level and will continue to improve with that experience under her belt.
Machaela Graham
Machaela Graham
Machaela had excellent footwork inside and rebounded and finished well. She has the skillset of some of the elite players at her position minus a few inches that would put her in that category. She is strong and physical and matches up well against taller post players.
Jadin Woods
Jadin Woods
Jadin was all over the place defensively. She didn’t hesitate to dive on the floor for a loose ball or do whatever it took to win a possession, she played like every moment counted. When open she showed a great looking shot with perfect form.
Ayla Galloway
Ayla Galloway
Ayla had a good blend of outside shooting and mixing things up in the paint. She was probably the x-factor with most other things being even that gave Fallston the edge. She was a threat to score anywhere on the floor and was disruptive in the press whether playing up top or in the back.
