Over the last several games I have seen a bushel full of long ball threats that defenses must extend out to challenge. Some, waaayyy out. Check out this extensive list from early games of the Newton Invitational and Mid America Classic.

[player_tooltip player_id='156293' first='Aileen' last='Becerril'], 5'10", SG/SF, Garden City, 2023 - Becerril has improved her handles as she has grown over the years. With range Becerrill launches a high arching shot that gives it a chance to rattle in if it does not catch all net. Streaky but solid spot up shooter.

[player_tooltip player_id='525609' first='Regan' last='Becker'], 6'0", PF/CG, St. James Academy, 2026 - Becker is just a problem. Players who can play all five positions on both ends of floor always are. Unselfish, Becker will uncork plays from time to time including showing her range on her three ball.

Breigh Bigelow, 5'7", Olathe South, 2023 - Bigelow has solid speed and can hit the three ball from a variety of spots. A real corner threat, she also buried one from the Bulldog head at the Mid America Classic in McPherson. That's range.

[player_tooltip player_id='94955' first='Carli' last='Carlson'], PG/SG, Clearwater, 2023 - Among the most improved shooters around from last season is Carlson. Her performance against Dodge City was indicative of her development. By the end of three quarters she was 5/9 at the Mid America Classic. She has long been known for her athleticism, scoring ability, and handling but I am happy to say she is that much more of a problem for defenses than ever.

[player_tooltip player_id='192791' first='Maxine' last='Doering'], 5'9", CG/SF, Manhattan, 2024 - Doering has a stout build who works hard defending on the interior as well as handling the ball with confidence. Her game is a big reason why I knew they would win at Hutchinson during sub-state last season. In flow off the catch or on the step-back Doering is a consistent perimeter threat.

[player_tooltip player_id='227853' first='Landon' last='Forbes'], 5'7", PG, Bishop Carroll, 2023 - Forbes is extremely difficult to defend because she is a terrific combination of speed, quickness, toughness, and high IQ that she turns into so many ways to hurt opponents. Being a consistent perimeter threat is just one of the ways.

[player_tooltip player_id='621243' first='Quinacy' last='Galbert'], 5'7", Wichita Southeast, 2026 - The quick, solidly built guard can get the ball in the air quickly. In a recent win over Olathe South she went 3/3.

[player_tooltip player_id='544009' first='Aniyah' last='Harris'], 5'6", SG/SF, Wichita Southeast, 2026 - Harris is a strong, physical defender with a willingness to bang with opposing bigs inside. Athletic and fast, Harris has serious range. Against Olathe South, at the Mid America Classic, she caught all net on her three made shots. One from near the media table and one from in front of the Buffalo bench included.

[player_tooltip player_id='616752' first='Leah' last='Henke'], 5'7", SG, Bishop Carroll, 2025 - Henke is a fast, quick perimeter shooter who takes over at point guard when floor leader [player_tooltip player_id='227853' first='Landon' last='Forbes'] is getting a rest. She can fill it up when she gets on a roll but is also a solid passer on the give and go or pick and roll game.

[player_tooltip player_id='192830' first='Ashlyn' last='Lembright'], 5'10", SF/CG, Dodge City, 2024 - The long, rangy forward is a solid spot-up shooter, especially in the corners. She runs well, works hard on both ends of the floor, and takes pressure of post players with her shooting.

Lilly Martin, 5'7", SG, Bishop Carroll, 2025 - Martin shoots a soft perimeter shot but also can score on the move. Puts up a soft floater on the fly well.

[player_tooltip player_id='766559' first='Katelyn' last='Menghini'], 5'10", SF/PF, St. James Academy, 2025 - A active, lengthy and heady player. She can read where a defender is trying to cheat and go over a screen to quickly slip behind to put a quick entry pass into the hole...making defenders look completely lost. I can go on and on but know that not only can she shoot the three but she put her stamp on the Bulldog head at the Mid America classic by catching all net from there.

[player_tooltip player_id='347858' first='Adriana' last='Tetley'], 5'11", SF/CG, Olathe South, 2024 - From defending bigs inside to running the point Tetley can be found playing a variety of positions on each end of the floor. A skilled scorer who can ring up points in a variety of ways, Tetley is among the better "show the ball" then finish players I have seen recently. On the perimeter she uses her ability to shoot the three, especially on the wing, to set up drives. She also is a solid passer.
