These freshman are making an impact on the court and are the future of Oklahoma basketball as we know it. I will say we are in good hands and the next 4 years are going to fun and exciting. The players below have shown they are the best and brightest of the pack and have been named my Top 5 players of the 2026 class.
Kyiah is a 6-foot small forward, Swiss-army knife type of player that is able to contribute in a variety of ways and fill multiple roles on a team. She is able to guard every position effectively on the floor, and she can play every position effectively on the floor. Handles – check, shooting range and play-making ability – check, Kyiah is a complete player and is special to watch. Her versatility extends to the defensive end and her energy and enthusiasm makes her a leader and a winner. She has really good body control, lateral quickness, and is a physical – competitor.
Highlights
Jayla is a 5’7″ point guard, floor general type of player that excels at running the offense and making good decisions with the ball. She plays with poise and confidence. She has quick handles and has a knack for beating her defender off the dribble, getting into the paint, and making a high-level basketball play. She is shifty – if you don’t bring your “A” game, she will catch you slipping. Whether finishing at the rim, pulling up in the mid-range, or finding an open teammate. She is skilled and plays with maturity and fun to watch.
Highlights
Maddi is a 5’9″ Shooting guard, “wing scorer” that excels at scoring from the perimeter and is capable at producing in the paint as well. She has a high-basketball IQ and plays with confidence. She takes care of the ball and good things happen when the ball is in her hands. Her game is polished and the production she brings to her team is effortless. From hitting the big 3-point shot, cleaning the glass with rebounds, or playing physical against smaller players that match up against her. She is fun to watch because she plays to win and sets an example through her play and production on the court.
Alexis is a 5’11” combo guard, long, athletic player with a lot of upside to her game. First thing that stands out is her basketball IQ. She is smart with the ball and makes good decisions. She has court vision – making timely passes to teammates in the half court and also in transition. She has good anticipation and instincts on the defensive end, guarding high-level players and using her length and lateral quickness to slow them down. She is coachable and plays hard and leads by example.
Mya is a 5′ 11″ shooting guard, Long, with a 6-foot plus wingspan and potential to be a high-level player. She uses her length well on the defensive end, rotating quickly with hands up and taking the vision away and altering shots. She is a ready shooter off the catch and can attack straight line to the basket. She finishes strong and can play through contact, rising above the defense with a nice touch. She has the framework of a college-level player and she will continue to develop her game and be very successful at her position. She stretches the floor with her shooting ability and can hit the midrange jumper.
