Among those was Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Its women’s basketball program is currently coached by Jimmy Garrity and it has experienced its fair share of success these past few years. The Terriers have become one of the more noteworthy mid-major teams in the realm of women’s college basketball.
Prep Girls Hoops was at Wofford’s camp this past Saturday. After looking at 2024s and 2025s, we now turn our attention to rising sophomores.
College coaches looking to recruit the Hoop State can be sure about McClure. She went for 13 points in what was a winning effort for Providence Day against South Carolina-based 4A Eastside. McClure displayed her versatility as a scorer from start to finish. Whether it was attacking the rim, looking to make things happen from behind the 3-point line or drawing contact to get to the free throw line, McClure was reliable throughout the game. The strong points of her game also include her ability to rebound, make proficient passes and create additional offensive possessions for her team by way of her defense.
Clark’s Providence Day Chargers earned a 52-41 victory at the expense of Palmetto State-based 4A Eastside on Sunday afternoon. They had Clark in large part to thank for that successful effort. Clark finished with 14 points which led all Providence Day point-getters for the contest. She particularly spearheaded the team’s efforts from deep as Clark sank four of the team’s seven 3-pointers for the game. If it was not treys she was draining, it was free throws as she is a threat to give her team extra opportunities at the charity stripe with the contact she draws. If Sunday’s game was a sign of things to come out of the Chargers the next few seasons – look out.
– For those fans of Cathedral Academy wondering what is Pouyat doing in a Palmetto Christian uniform – do not panic. Pouyat did not transfer to Palmetto Christian – the team was short of players for the camp and Pouyat happened to be available. She finished with eight points against West Ridge. When watching Pouyat play, what impresses onlookers every bit as much as her scoring capabilities is how her court vision can translate to her making accurate passes. She certainly can display how accurate she is also from behind the 3-point arc and in terms of what she can do as a free throw shooter.
Highlights
Avery Clark

Clark is fresh off a 2022-23 freshman campaign that saw her take to the court on 20 occasions for the Eagles. By virtue of her seven-point performance that she had against a tough West Ridge team out of Tennessee, she certainly shined. On a number of occasions, she was able to get to the free throw line. Clark is listed at 5-foot-11 on the Palmetto Christian Academy roster and that can come in very useful when looking to make things happen in the rebounding game. Primarily, she plays at the four in the frontcourt. Last season proved she is just getting started.

Aficionados of the 4A Pioneers have come used to the hoops exploits of one of the sisters Torgerson. They will become plenty acquainted with those of another in the coming years. She finished with 10 points as Watauga concluded the Wofford camp with a 47-33 victory vs. 4A Pickens out of South Carolina. Torgerson displayed how accurate she can be from behind the 3-point line as she drained a trio of triples – three of the seven Watauga threw at the Blue Flame on Sunday afternoon. Defensively, she can be active with her hands to disrupt an opposing team’s passing lanes.
