There are some guards in that list that have terrific upside as well. These are the types of players that can see tremendous growth in their already terrific skill sets. Let’s look at some of these players.
Kolnytus walked in as a freshman and carried the lead guard responsibilities. That’s a tough ask for a young player, but she more than responded. Kolnytus has the look and leadership of a true point guard. She can handle the ball against pressure and gets the ball to it’s spots.
Schlorf is an exciting prospect that could make a lot of noise in the coming years. Her ability to finish on both side of the bucket is impressive, as is the amount of creativity and touch that she can finish with. Schlorf’s ball skills are underrated. She has a nice hesistation and cross over move that she can go either way with.
Highlights
Carter is a top 10 type talent, regardless of the number next to her name. I think that by the time, it’s all said and done, she will have an option to play at any level. Carter is so smooth off the catch and shoot, featuring range that extends well beyond the arc. Carter is dynamic with the ball as well, having the ability to break down a defender, create space, and finish from mid range or at the rim.
Lowry has a lot of potential as a basketball player and prospect. I really like what she brings to the table on the defensive end of the floor. Lowry could end up as a huge plus as far as a wing defender. She can challenge ball handlers and plays solid help defense. Lowry move freely and easily across the lane on D.
Raska is a terrific talent that has loads of game and upside to go with it. She’s a speedy guard that can make plays with the ball in her hand. Let’s not forget the fact that she can shoot with range extending past the 3 point line. Raska is a tough defender as well and she isn’t afraid to mix it up.
