The level of talent on display was outstanding and every player competed hard from start to finish. The class of 2027 in the Bluegrass State is loaded with prospects that will indeed play at the next level. Check out my 5 player starting lineup from this event.

Kennedy Stamper Kennedy Stamper 5'5" | PG George Rogers Clark | 2027 State KY continues to make her case as the top 2027 prospect in the state. She has elite skills and abilities that makes her really fun to watch. She set the tone for Team 1 as they went 4-0 at this event. Stamper put on a show with her incredible ball handling skills, sick behind the back passes and perimeter shooting. I see her making big leaps for GRC this upcoming season.
Adrianna Brown
Adrianna Brown
Adrianna Brown was outstanding at the showcase yesterday and a major contributor for Team 1. She played with intensity throughout the entire event and made a huge impact on both ends of the floor. Brown was all over the place coming up with blocks, leaping for rebounds and knocking down shots from three. Her game against Team 3 was all I needed to see. She put on a clutch performance that helped her team get the victory. Brown is hands down one of the top 27’s in Kentucky and looks to make a name for herself at Great Crossing this season.
Makiyia Wheeler
Makiyia Wheeler
Makiyia Wheeler was on a mission yesterday and played like she had a point to prove. She came out the gate dropping dimes and finishing through contact on the fast break. Wheeler could not be contained and seemed to get anywhere she wanted on the court with her speed and ball handling skills. She also showed off her perimeter shooting ability hitting several pull-up jumpers. Franklin County has a young star in the making with Wheeler I see a big freshman season coming from her this year. Asia Carner
Asia Carner
The “Bluegrass Barbie” Asia Carner put on a dominant performance at the freshman showcase. She is super quick off the dribble and has tremendous handles making her almost unguardable. Carner got to the rim at will scoring inside with some very creative finishes. She also showed off her range from behind the arc and a nice dribble pull-up game. Carner is a prime example of the the level of talent coming out of Northern Kentucky. She has a ton of upside and a very bright future ahead.
Highlights
Maci Messer Maci Messer 5'10" | SF South Laurel | 2027 State KY really impressed me yesterday with her relentless effort driving the ball to score in paint or at the rim. She has good size and length and impacts the game in many ways. Messer did a good job rebounding the ball and causing turnovers on defense as well. South Laurel has a young but very talented roster and Messer will be a key player for them this season.
