Last Wednesday we released the updated rankings for the Class of 2025. We did not expand the list at all, so there is still a Top-75 and a watch list of another 100 prospects, so a total of 175 members of the Class of 2025 are listed on Prep Girls Hoops Indiana. This quarter is more of a maintenance update heading into the high school season, but we will expand the list once again around Christmas. Below, I wanted to highlight all of the power forwards in the class who we currently have listed, as well as highlight a handful of ladies who stood out throughout the Summer and early Fall.

SUMMER/FALL STOCK-RISERS & ANY NEWCOMERS:

– Andrea had a strong Spring and Summer both, and she really “put herself out there” in terms of recruiting. She has a lot of length, a nice frame she can add some strength to over the next couple of years, and she’s willing to be physical. She has face-up skill and will likely ultimately be a multilevel power forward, but for now she seems to like battling inside. She runs the floor very well, and she has nice touch in the mid-post. She is an elite small college prospect.

– Nevaeh has always flashed nice talent, but everything seemed to “click” in July, and she played at a completely different level. She has a strong yet athletic frame, some length, and she moves around the floor very well. She can battle on the block and control the boards, she has nice touch and ball skill from the mid-post, and now she’s starting to handle it more in transition and knock down the occasional outside jumper. Division-I schools are taking notice.

– Bren seems to always come up whenever I talk about an event or position group she’s a part of. She has tremendous length, a wiry-strong frame, and she’s a bouncy and effortful athlete. I don’t know what other word to use than slither, but she seems to slither her way around opponents to grab big rebounds or score it at the basket. She also knocks down perimeter jumpers consistently, and she can defend multiple positions effectively.

– Over the last couple of years, Ayla has gotten much stronger, plus her confidence has risen a great deal, especially offensively. She is a nice all-around athlete, she has a solid basketball IQ, and she plays with an outstanding motor. She’s willing to do a lot of the “little things” inside the arc, and she’s a nice rebounder. But she is a dangerous perimeter shooter who can bury shot after shot, or she can put it on the floor and attack when defenders are off-balance.

(2025 point guard), Gracie spent last year attending high school in Louisville, Kentucky, but she has since transferred back to Corydon and will be a nice addition to an already strong squad. She has outstanding length, a wiry strength to her, and she’s a nice North/South athlete who glides up and down the floor. She has the ability to play in the mid-post and shoot or drive, plus she can knock down an open rhythm 3-pointer.
