There were so many talented players in the gym. I loved watching the top players defender each other as well as how they meshed with other talented players. There were several players that caught my eye and were able to make a major impact, or displayed skills that separated them from others.
Best player in the gym. She has size, athleticism and skill. She is versatile, can play in the paint or the wing and able to guard multiple positions. Throughout the day she scored at will, pushed the ball in transition maintained great defensive position blocking several shots and altering more. When on the bench, she was engaged in the game constantly talking and encouraging her teammates. She showed why she is one of the best players in the country.

Zoe had a tremendous day. The ultimate competitor, she matched up with some of the best guards in the building and put in work. She confidently handled the ball, playing the lead guard position she showed high IQ, knowing when to look for her shot and create for others. She was able to score off the bounce, utilizing screens, in transition and off the pass. At 5’6 she was crafty enough to get her shot off against taller defenders and strong enough to over power players her size. She was one of the most dynamic kids in the gym.
Savannah has nice size at 6’1, she moves well laterally and was able to step out to the perimeter and guard any position on the court. Her team was loaded with offensive talent, yet she found a way to stand out on the defensive end and with her relentless rebounding. She was everywhere the ball was battling for rebounds and getting on the floor for loose balls. She has a knack for finding 50/50 balls and finding the ball off the rim. Offensively, she consistently hit the midrange jumper and made several nice passes. Savannah has a lot of untapped offensive potential. I look forward to seeing her progression over the years.
Samia immediately stood out as a top player. She is quick with tight handles, her crossover was nearly impossible to guard as she keeps it low and quick. She was able to get into the paint whenever she wanted. She is a natural leader commanding the court, constantly communicating with teammates making sure they were aware of their defense of assignments. She directed the flow of the game offensively, ensuring her teammates were in position and knew when she needed to take over and get a bucket, and went to create for others.

One of the youngest players in the gym, Jayda was also one of the best. Jayda has a strong body and good size at 5’9. When driving to the lane she wasn’t easily knocked off balance and finished through contact. High IQ with good court vision, sees plays develop and makes timely passes. She had a nice no look pass between defenders in transition. Defensively, she showed her ability to contain the ball, keep defenders from penetrating the paint and contested shots without fouling. Jayda doesn’t dominate the ball to be effective, she’s unselfish and can play either guard position. Jayda oozes with talent, hard to believe she is only a freshman.
