The 48th Annual Newton Invitational is annually hosted by Newton High School. Teams from a variety of classifications and leagues make up the field. This year 3A-6A teams from the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail, Central Plains, Eastern Kansas, Greater Wichita Area, and Sunflower Leagues as well as the Western Activities Conference make up the slate of eight teams. There is a lot to like about Ravenscroft Gymnasium. Plenty of space to roam the side and end lines, lots of seating, and a rocking environment when filled up. After being up the road at in McPherson for the Mid America Classic for that event's day 1 I looked forward to catching Newton's day 2.
